350 days. And, honestly, she doesn’t really look much different to me today than she did when I dropped her off at the clinic two weeks ago. At that point, I guesstimated she had at least a week or two to go. The vets keep telling me they think she’ll go “in the next few days”, but I’m not seeing it.
She was a little miffed at me for abandoning her for two weeks, but I mollified her with apple bits left over from my lunch. I did get to watch her ultrasound, and the little one was squirming away in there, so much so that we couldn’t get a good heart rate because he wouldn’t be still long enough. She doesn’t look anywhere near fully bagged up, and her “milk” is still in the salty lemonade stage, but it is surprisingly testing at a pH in the low 7s, so who knows what she has planned?
The vets techs report that she loves her walks and thoroughly enjoyed the bath they gave her a couple of days ago. At least she seems to have settled in reasonably well.
