26 Welsh ponies in danger in Michigan
Just came from the Manchester, MI hay auction where the auctioneer announced that on Sat, there will be a special auction to disperse the estate of a nationally known Welsh pony breeder whose stock was seized by the state. I don’t know who it was, auctioneer stated that the woman’s name was Allison and that her farm started with a “P”. Also that all of these horses had recently been on her website for $1500-$10,500.

Details:
26 purebred Welsh ponies from weanlings to 5 years. No papers, owner would not give them to the guys who seized the horses. Don’t know if it would be possible to get replacements. Not broke. (shockingly, all of the broke horses were gone when the state showed up).

Absolute, unadvertised sale. No minimu bids. No “no-sales”. Everything sells.

ALso, all of her equipment, pony wagons, harness, feeders, trailers etc. “stuff” starts at 6 pm, ponies promptly at 9pm.

THere were several known kill buyers at the hay auction today and I’m sure that they will be back on Sat. The one doesn’t like to pay more than $20/head.

I would like to go but DH is terrified that I would bring home a whole trailer load…will go if someone with some willpower wants to go with me or if someone else wants to buy.
do you have to go to the auction to buy or can you make an offer online?

this thread was started in 2009- I think the auction is over…

Update, palustrine will-o-wisp

Small world, found a cute cremello online, made the purchase.
Now she is home, give the papers a look over and realize she had gone through that sale. She has had two foals, both palomino.
I haven’t picked her next beau, but looking. She is a smaller b, needs a stallion with a bigger hip.
I’m a subscriber, but not sure on how to post pic

https://www.change.org/p/michigan-judicial-tenure-commission-demand-return-of-properties-and-reparations-from-judge-margaret-ms-noe To everyone who thought it would be profitable to cash in on the theft of mine and my daughters ponies…Ther is a new Attorney General in Michigan who cares about the welfare of animals and people!! Dana Nessel It is very disgusting that the Ruesink’s and their hired thieves Laura and Danny Bristle (Tecumseh, MI) would go out of their way to advertise to Kill Buyers, but for you all to seek to profit from this theft is totally disgusting and UNAMERICAN!!!

Ther wer no Stallions from the Palustrine Farm!! All colts had been gelded by Dr Kirkland of Clinton Michigan, my Vet for 25 years.

all of the Broke ponies were at 4-H approve homes or leased to good horse peoole.

Not going to read 20 pages to figure out the whole story here. But isn’t this a ten year old sale and horses dispersed?

Isn’t this thread 10 years old?

This thread is 10 YEARS OLD. Odd and rather suspicious that the supposed previous owner would drag up an old thread from the bowels of COTH to post and sling accusations and spittle all these years later.

When odd stuff like this happens, I always have a vision of a bunch of grad students and their professor sitting around computers doing research on the behavior of people on the internet.

“OK, guys, today’s project is to go to online forums, find some old discussion and revive it by posting a series of crazy comments and record the responses.”

Not going back reading ancient history but…say what??? Sheep and Shetlands?..Know it was posted in the wee small hours but…wow, that’s an image not easily unseen.

Apparently for at least the past 2 years one of the players in the original seizure has been circulating a petition asking for restitution that now has about 5 signatures. The “voice” of the petition is the same as the posts here.

What’s odd is that welshponies has a join date of 2011 but no posts until now. Does not show any posts for when this thread was active. I wonder if they just monitored the thread or if they made contributions that were deleted by mods for some reason?

The whole thing fits into the category of “ancient
grievance” where for whatever reason a person gets wound up about something that happened too long ago to change anything.

Should think the statue of limitations has long passed its limits.

Intesting about the join date and absence of posts, there was another thread on here recently that had the same thing going on. Guessing deleted content. Interesting looking back on this thread and seeing some long absent ( and banned) posters). Blast from the past.

There is such a thing as Shetland sheep–that’s where those nice sweaters come from…

Thx Ghazzu. That’s what happens when people react to a 9 year old observation buried in a 20 page thread. But it is more popcorn worthy.
