26 Welsh ponies in danger in Michigan
I actually wanted to add (though I feel weird doing so) that my name is also Allison (the same as the woman who’s estate is being auctioned) and I’m at Far Gone Farm. Manchester’s a small place (ungodly small really, which is why I wanted to clarify). If anyone needs any more info about the area, just PM me  I can put you in touch with great vets and the like.
Allison - you have Cover of Day! Certainly you need some more ponies!

Iron Horse - I would get a pony and Daisy would eat it

No need for extra mouths around here (though Daisy did foal in May - he’s loffly:D) But if anyone needs a stall just for the night Saturday I may be able to help out if necessary…far, far away from Daisy!

Bumping up to keep this on page one.

awww man… I wants a pony… But I can’t do it YET… frigg’n figures… BUMP If anyone saves some spare ponies PM me AFTER the fact and In a month or two I WILL have a place to put one and a JOB for it to do.

Can anybody put some link up to the Michigan auction so I can pass it on here in Germany? Who knows maybe someone will want to jump in. Can not hurt a try… Maybe I shouldn’t bother as there are surely enough desperate ponies to be rescued inside Germany but one can never know.
I did find the catalog for the Ontario auction and passed it on as well as some of those ponies have valuable bloodlines I’m sure someone will care to buy. I am more concerned with the ones that don’t fit any breeding bill or are unpapered. Can the farm owner legally withhold the papers on horses that have been seized? I can’t believe law sometimes :frowning: It would be so much easier to place a pony that has papers…

it’s done all the time…sometimes out of spite and sometimes to hide a ponies identity…they can be “lost” in a woodstove as well ;)…the breed associations in these cases sometimes have regulations built into the bylaws for dealing with the then “lost” papers…but a court is generally involved…

folks mention is this a just a divorce sale…it is still a forced sale just like IRS or Chancery Court sales…they could not agree to divide assets or money was owed or something and the judge said “sell em”

I’m getting some cash together to have Holly proxy bid for me - and I’m going to try to get some quotes for shipping, but I’d love to have alternatives. The ponies need to get from MI to PA - anyone have any ideas or willing to share a trailer ride from there to here?

Question for Iron Horse - the wiring on my truck is misbehaving, & its probably not a good idea to trailer at night. Everyone I know with a trailer is apparently out of town this weekend. So I’m wondering - if I show up and buy some ponies, is there anyone who could house them overnight for me? Trailering on Sunday is not a problem, just can’t do it Saturday night.

I have a call in to a friend of mine that lives in Manchester that could probably hold ponies for people over night for pickup… Left her a voicemail and will post if I hear anything

I am out of town- BUT…I live about 3 miles from there- like FGF. I can do a couple of things- house them for sure until someone can get them if they desire. I can also probably get my DH (who we will owe MUCH to, given how the MI economy is right now…) get to get them in the trailer. I know he could not handle the auction…too soft hearted…

Let me know…

I am going with my 6 horse stock and they can have a field overnight.

slight heads up- need to make sure that we are not setting up to bid against each other.

That would be silly.

Again, can take some- and DD may be interested in one or 2 for herself (also in NC right now, ready to pop herself with foal- which is why I am down here…)

We are meeting at my trailer in the parking lot (big black Ford dually with a 6 horse aluminum stock with black windows - traile says Iron Horse Farm) during the tack sale - around 7:30, so that we can all go in and sit together and not bid against each other.

I believe you and Brad have just the space for a couple of them, and Brads just the right size…:wink: (DO NOT tell him I said that!!!)

So wish I was going to be there. The emails have gone out to many people, so you should get quite a turnout. Thanks for alerting everyone.

Do let us know if you need anything. Again, we are pretty close, and I have alerted DH- as has our DD made it clear that this was happening. He HATES auctions, but, I bet he’d be willing to show up with trailer.

haha I won’t share with him (Richard was trying to get him to learn to be a jockey on Monday)- but we do have temporary space until they could be placed I’d just have to schmooze his Parents that their Goat and Litenup need more friends for awhile and that the back pasture really is overgrown…

I can probably house two in stalls overnight if needed. Like I said, I’m 5 minutes away. If someone cares to PM me I can provide a phone number. Annikak’s DH would probably have a fairly good idea of where I live as well.

IHF

I have a line on a place that may be able to take in a number of the ponies if someone can hang on to them for a few days.

Do we have any idea about how many potentials takers there are so far?

Oh my I wish I could be there. I think this is turning out to be quite an event. Keep me in mind if you come across a gray pony weanling or yearling in need of a home…
