Good on all of you for working together to save these ponies. Welsh ponies taught me to ride and drive as a child. So beautiful and smart!
I wish I were closer, or had space for one … or two!

I am wishing the Michigan ponies as good luck as the Ontario ponies had yesterday. They all sold, some for VERY good prices. The lines were different though, but it was nice to see that they were buyers. So good luck in MI.
Those of you who are far away: There is someone who would likely be willing to haul long distance for pretty much the price of gas if there is a large enough group of ponies to make it worthwhile.
Allison, I got YOUR email about the ponies forwarded to me! If you get a chance, please let people know to meet up at Holly’s trailer (the Iron Horse Farms trailer) at 7:30 so no one is bidding against one another.
I currently have firm commitmenst of several attendees.
I currently have firm commitments of 2 full size trailers. I currently have no actual $, just some people saying “if you can get one for $, I will take it”.
Hoping to firm some of this up before Sat.
To the poster who hoped that this goes as well as Ontario…this is a whole different ball of wax. That was a caring breeder who became ill. The auction was off limits to KBs and well advertised. Horses were well presented and had papers. This is a state seizure, horses are in questionable condition and papers are nowhere to be found. It is at a venue well known to the local KBs and they will be in attendance. These ponies are very much AT RISK.
I plan on going and buying, however, I would need to have them hauled (got the truck but no trailer). Or, if someone could hold them overnight, until I arranged shipping to Metamora. Anyone willing to hold them if I don’t have a ride for them until Sunday. Or want to rent a bumper pull to me that day?
Pennyhill - do you have a trailer, but no truck right now? Maybe we could figure something out and save some cute ponies. (FYI, I will be making a trip to your barn with my client to look at Wubzy again on Friday, we could talk about it then.)
I would love to meet up with the rest of you so we are not bidding against each other. I looked at the website and it looks like they may have a few TB/Welsh and Quarter/Welsh crosses as well.
Local folks are trying to make arrangements for short-term holding and hauling. Will post as soon as I had firm information about that.
Kingsboro, there is a HT at Cobblestone Farms this weekend. Do you know anyone who will be attending that could possibly pick them up for you?
Kingsboro- I posted earlier about being able to board at least two overnight- PM me if interested. I would be happy to help.
Baxtersmom - small world! I’m trying to keep my boarders on a short leash. Invariably however, they tend to lengthen it
I want one… I just don’t think my parents would appreciate me hiding a pony in their garage. They’d come home from vacation and… SURPRISE! (sadly, when I was a kid, I thought this was a perfectly viable option for my “I want a horse” campaign)
I don’t know anyone attending the HT unfortunately. I will wait and see what I can get arranged in the next couple of days.
fargonefarm - you have a PM!
Just wanted to bump this up for the ponies!
Good luck you guys! I wish I could take one but I board…
Will be jingling though that all of them get to find decent homes.
bump I’m still getting quotes from shippers.
My DD wants a young one, and is in NC (near SC), so can add a few to my load…
This is an opportunity for me to get my granddaughter a nice Welsh pony that maybe I can afford while saving a life. She’s only 4 but can ride if the pony is very cooperative. She also loves to show and is doing well in leadline classes in local shows. The next big show would be the PA National Horse Show and though she leases a pony right now having her own would give her more time to ride.
If there is a nice gelding about a 2002 not more than around 13 H ish and cheap I would love to get one, but I mean cheap since there is still shipping.
Is anyone able to help me get a pony, I’m in PA?
Please email me if you are going to the sale. Barnmom45@aol.com
I’ve already emailed you annikak.
I am also in PA - maybe we can make this work? I don’t have shipping either, myself, yet.
Anyone in CA yearning for a pony?
So I am correct in understanding that the auction won’t begin until around 9pm?
If so, that’s pretty late, especially with 26 ponies. My feeling is this: United Producers in Manchester (where the auction is being held) has stalls (which is where the ponies are held pending auction.) Those of us offering stabling and trailering are going to be up all night at this rate. I’m wondering if there is any way we could convince the powers that be at UPI to hold the sold ponies until Sunday AM for those of you that are having others trailer or stable the ponies. It’s just a thought. I may give UPI a call tomorrow morning to see if this is feasible. It’s just that I can’t really trailer anyone at this point but I’m offering stabling and I’m trying to make things a little easier. Oh well. Just a thought
When/where is the auction?
There is someone from the Fugly board who will make a long haul (including to CA) if she can fill her trailer (five to six) for about $400 a pony. We have interested parties in CA and AZ. We also have some interest in FL, which could mean a load through PA, etc.
