26 Welsh ponies in danger in Michigan

My trailer person fell through but since… ehem… i’m a little bit related to Annikak you can roll me into that group… I am contemplating a purchase but I’ll let you know… hopefully we can get a better description on what is actually going to run through the sale…

Ugh why do people have to be getting married on this day?? I want to come!

I will be away from my computer until late tonight starting at about 11 and it’s 10:15 now.

I can tell you that there will be NO list from the owners. The daughter will be there but, they have stuff they want in the sale and she will focus on getting that. I may try to purchase a few ponies back for them as well and will have a list if she emails me of those ponies.

I will be buying Koda (for sure) and Aster and we have $500 to put in for others in which Aster is included in that amount.

We have a trailer and could possible help out on local hauling/drop off but, come from Port Huron area so we can’t take anything back as we hope to have 2 of our own.

message me and I will get back with you tonight. I will be offline most of the day tom. but, will check emails when I can.

Ponies at auction

It is so sad that divorce can do this to animals isnt it. But on a good note, I am sure glad there are so many good homes waiting and bidding for these ponies. IF the owner cant stop the auction, seeing that her ponies go to good homes must be a welcome relief. Surely she could be forthcoming with there info if they are going to the right homes. It would surely benefit her as well as the ponies.

I will pray that all goes well for the innocents involved.

YES well said…and if you do get a pony I am happy to help you get papers for it. She wants good homes and this is terrible!

My girlfriend called this a.m. and said that she had emailed one of you? She is willing to haul a trailer down and help…she’s also a trimmer and was offering to help in that way if needed. She hasn’t heard back from anyone…so I dunno if you guys got the message or not.

I unfortunately will be out of town, but am jingling for a great outcome for the ponies! Way to go you guys!

Do you know if Beau or Dancer will be running through? I think you’re taking Kody right?

That would be wonderful, maybe she can just sell on her web site. I hope she can update her site and show us what is available now, all of them.

There weren’t good homes waiting…and now, behold the power of COTH!I think that at this point we may have homes for lots of them! I’ll wait to say “mission accomplished” until Sunday morning.

Good on you Holly, for making this happen.

WONDERFUL NEWS!

If you need my pasture let me know, pony parking available.
Chester County, PA

here is some info…gotta run!

if someone has the time or KNOWS what ponies they want please list them so we don’t outbid each other. Here is a Partial list of what IS NOT THERE! however there are many not on the site that are 07,08 that are there. Also, the broodmares age up to late teens

Not in sale:
Star
Patriot
Freedom
Liberty
Rocket
Dancer
Megan
beauty
stallions
Teddy
Sienna
Desi
Beau (RIP)

Just to repeat I am going to get Koda
then maybe
Aster
Trey
Bucky
Rue maybe to Indy (on sight)

FYI, Indie is a very nice broodmare

I will definitely bidding on Trey and Bucky. Trey looks like my Welsh gelding at home.

There are a lot of unnamed babies of 2007 on the website as well. We’ll see what happens!!

Ok, looks like if it goes forward I’ll be bidding on 3 for Annika + family, her daughter would like dibs on a weanie to 2 year old pref. palamino if there is one.

Catersun…still want one? call me if you want (517) 851-7181.

Please know that the KB’s and Slaughterhouses do not accept horses that weigh under 600 pounds. This has been verified. So many of these ponies are not in danger of shipping to slaughter. Still a good opportunity to get a nice pony though.

Verified as the law, but not always followed - particularly with the Mexican slaughter plants.

OKAY, I can be on-sight to trim the ponies if anyone would be interested (for free, of course) just let me know if you all are interested.

I can bring my trailer too, but, im hesitant to do that because its an 1.5 hour drive for me just to get there. and if anyone needs trailering, I would have get gas $$$ from ya (just to your place), otherwise I dont want to haul my trailer 1.5 hours if no one needs hauling… but, the trimming I can do.

They are closely monitored many times going to and from Canada and the fines are hefty if they are caught with foals under the age of 6 months. Please read post number 38968.264 and 38968.276 on this thread Foals-Heading to Mexico Slaughter
on the ABR Board. This has been verified by The Slaughter Houses and the Killbuyers. They will not accept any animal under 600 pounds. It is not worth it to them. This is good news for the smaller equine and foals embrace it.
In fact the whole thread is a very interesting and educational read.

I hope someone (SSFLandon?) can verify what should happen here. Seems the owner’s daughter will be bidding on some of the ponies (she has to buy back her own ponies?) Tack and equipment, too?

I’m all for saving the ponies, really I am. Anything to keep them from the KBs. And you-all have been magnificent.

But if the owner’s farm was a going concern that got derailed when the court stepped in … well, that’s different.

I have come from Manchester with some info from the auction flyer:

The sale starts sharply at 6pm with used tack and equipment. Some of this includes:
hay feeders
a new pony stock
pony wagon
pony carts
carious pony tack
rubber tubs
horse/pony blankets
electric fencer
tack trunk
Other consignments include:
4-horse trailer
New Holland Riding Lawn Mower
Antiques from the estate
power washer
various tools

There will also be new tack auctioned off after the used stuff. Consignments are welcome day of sale or prior but only until 5:30 day of.

The ponies may be previewed day of sale or prior with appt. only. The contact is Laura at (517) 442-9500. I have to assume that if you want to inquire about stabling Sat. night at the auction grounds you culd also call this number. The auctioneers are Danny and David Bristle and they are running things. DO NOT call United Producers as they are only providing the location, nothing else. Ponies will sell at 9pm followed by all other horses.
This auction is not limited to Palustrine Farm’s property and horses - other consignors have been invited.

For anyone needed it the location of UPI (United Producers Inc.) is M-52 (near the corner of M-52 and Pleasant Lake Road) in Manchester, MI 48158. It is south of I-94 (about 20 minutes from the Chelsea-Manchester exit off I-94).

Be careful - if you go too far and aren’t careful you will miss Manchester entirely  And also be forewarned that we don’t have any fast food places or the like. We’re a farming community and we pretty much shut down around 9pm.

BIG UPDATE!

All ponies now have current coggins, shots and have been wormed!! All ponies are being sedated tomorrow for farrier work! :D:D:D

Also, there is a QH mare that was taken that will also be sold along with 2 sheep that the humane officer said have not been shorn in 5 years. Anyone need a sheep? I do not know tha they will get sone when the vet is out tomorrow, but we’ll see!

Other consignments were made available by the auction house but they do not currently have any other horses going through the sale.
