26 Welsh ponies in danger in Michigan

[QUOTE=Iron Horse Farm;4240630]
All ponies now have current coggins, shots and have been wormed!! All ponies are being sedated tomorrow for farrier work! :D:D:D

Also, there is a QH mare that was taken that will also be sold along with 2 sheep that the humane officer said have not been shorn in 5 years. Anyone need a sheep? I do not know tha they will get sone when the vet is out tomorrow, but we’ll see!

Other consignments were made available by the auction house but they do not currently have any other horses going through the sale.[/QUOTE

Wow!!!

May I request that people not bombard Laura with phone calls? If you have specific questions, Holly is in contact with auction officials and can probably answer you.

Also, Holly and I are trying to make arrangements so that this an organized process. Neither Holly nor I are looking for ponies for ourselves. Our priority is GETTING ALL THE PONIES TO GOOD HOMES. Please please do not turn this into a feeding frenzy. We are incredibly pleased and relieved that the response has been so tremendous. So, we would like to ensure that 1. every pony gets a home, and 2. people who have been so generous as to offer help and homes are not disappointed.

I know it’s easy to get excited, but if everyone can work together with us, and wait for concrete information, this can go smoothly. Thanks!!!

OK, a bit off topic but related.

Anyone going who knows about driving harness and would be willing to bid, and ship it to Idaho for Lost Farmer’s 4-H driving club? If so, please PM me.

Thanks.

I have an offer of short-term layover home in Bowling Green OH.

Here is the OP (she can’t access COTH right now)

If an animal can get transported, I can let them stay at my barn short term. Unfortunately, I am absolutely too busy to haul myself. Located in Bowling Green, Ohio about 30 mins south of the MI/OH border.

OK Baxter’smom, looks like I’ll be bidding on 4.

3 for Annika & co. and 1 for Catersun.

Hmmm, Sheep I could definitely sneak into the backyard. I could just tell hubby they just appeared. I wonder what kind and how bad of shape they are in?

Annikak,
I am near Winston-Salem, NC. HOw much for hauling down from Michigan? Is there still room on your trailer?

Can whoever gets that palomino post a follow-up please? S/he just reminds me too much of our half-welsh boy, it’s really bothering me thinking he won’t get a good home.

I still haven’t heard if there is anyone trailering even remotely close to New England.:frowning:

I’m still trying to get word about PA. Commercial shipper looks like it’s going to be $400-500.

Nice Vet

I am planning on attending the auction and purchasing at least one pony. I was interested in Bucky, Kody, or Trey. What time are all the rescue people meeting at the Iron Horse Farm trailer? Has anyone made an appointment to view the ponies before the auction? I was thinking of joining someone so that the lady in charge of the appointments isn’t overwhelmed.
I’m interested in any larger pony.
Let’s save them all!!!
