Abusive photos from a Tom Olive clinic, Ocala, FL

… And the longe whip is in the horse’s mouth?
Wow, first time I watched the video I thought it was a broken cross tie - but I think you are right!!

Ok, I know its never safe to “assume” but my guess would be that the horse was getting lashed by that lunge whip and took it from him. And thats when the “trainer” went for the rope and snap to beat the horse with…

Good for that horse for taking the stick away…jeez man. Hard to make any judgements on a 3 second snapshot, but that is clearly one upset horse.

If you click the Tom Olive link below the video it will take you to the original post where he actually explains and defends his actions… The horse did take the whip form his hand and his first reaction was to hit it with a metal chain.

I believe one of those posting under the original video has since come out publicly to remove herself and her ranch from any association from this trainer.

Can someone please get that video and those photos to a humane investigator that know something about training horses?

Please, please, please!

…I read yesterday that animal abuse can now be turned in to the FBI, as if they didn’t have enough to do.
I read the same thing:
http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2014/09/fbi_adds_animal_cruelty_to_uniform_crime_report_statistics.html

Is there anything we do about this guy? Those pictures are truly awful.

(I am working to contact appropriate personnel).

A nice break. I don’t cry often but this was one time tears threatened.

Yes, I know, waaayyyy off topic but nice to see someone do something nice for an animal which is scared out of their minds.

I am getting passed around. First I had the wrong humane department, then I spoke to the referred department and was told that although the guy lives in Marion County, the incidents are in Seminole County, so they don’t have any jurisdiction and I need to talk to them. I hope they are open on Saturdays.
thanks for taking the initiative on this!

Just to be sure you have the facts right. The clinic was on 9/13/14 to 9/14/14 at a private barn in Geneva, Fl.

You have chalked up good Karma for a loooong time for taking the lead on this one. Those poor horses, this guy is an abomination.

HOW do people still fall for this crap? Especially the women, you’d think maternal instinct would kick in at some point. Sigh.

Do you know where he trains out of? The video was not from the clinic.
This man is a monster and he must be stopped

Anyone who would subject their horse to this type of abuse needs their head examined
No, they don’t need their heads examined they need the crap beaten out of them.
They need to be spurred, thrown down and then beaten some more.

Cindyg gets that credit. I’m just trying to make sure it is seen by some eyes that can do something about it.

If he sues us, you can take the credit. LOL.

The videos are off his OWN Facebook page. He’s not a bit ashamed of them. His training facility is in Ocala, FL.

The pictures are from the clinic which was in Geneva, FL on 4/13/14 and 4/14/14. And just for the record, I was not at the clinic. I did not take the pictures.

I think numerous people have called the local authorities, and that’s a good thing.

ETA: Another thing we can do is keep posting to this thread so it comes up in a google search.

That video is sickening. He doesn’t even hesitate to use the snap end of the rope to hit the horse either. That poor horse.
I haven’t seen the video (removed on any link I clicked on). I presume it isn’t just a standard CTJ moment, in which you have 3 seconds to make the horse think you are going to kill him?

How about getting this to Rate My Horse Pro?

No, the horse was cross tied and rearing, striking out. He was in front of it (in front!!) and hitting it across the body with the snap. Which horse fought more. Somewhere I read it was a wash rack and horse didn’t want to get a bath and then it escalated to the three second vid. I watched it twice but it’s been a few days now.

(I am working to get information to appropriate personnel.)

Did anyone save the rearing video? It has been taken down. I have a screen cap, but no video.
