My grandmother passed away this past summer and boy I hope she’s listening now. What made her so special was her ability to pray. I should preface this by saying that she was not always a religous person. When my father was a child, she would drop him and his brother off for Sunday school and she and my grandfather would go to the local coffee shop to smoke and read the paper. Well one Sunday my uncle asked her why they always went to church but she never did. So it began…from then on she went to church every Sunday for 50 years.

Now going to church is one thing, but she was not only attending, she was involved in EVERYTHING. Especially her prayer group and boy did she have a list. Every night she prayed for 2-3 hours, usually on her knees, until it wasn’t possible, and I would swear she had God sitting there next to her. If you made the list you were probably in need of a little leg up from the heavens. She often prayed for mothers, sick friends, and guidance, but never for herself. However, if you one of the people who happened to get your name written not one her paper, but by a specific passage in her Bible, buddy, you had major issues. (My sisters name was in there several times but we won’t get into that.) I would always tell her that when she got to heaven to put a good word in for me, cause if she couldn’t get me in, no one could.

I guess my point is through her prayer I saw miracles happen. If she were here now I would call her and ask her to pray especially hard for Aiden. She was a rare human being and an asset to a family in need of all the prayers we could get. So grandma if you’re out there could you please stay extra close to this precious baby. Let God know that he is loved and has brought so many people together (in a world that’s not always loving and kind). We are not asking a thing for ourselves, but for a family desperate to keep their little boy here with them. Let God know we are all praying harder than ever and we’re not giving up. Although life may be God’s gift alone…we aren’t ready to let go of this very special little boy.

God Bless All of You this Holiday Season

Lisa, I’m praying as hard as I can, for Aiden, you, Joey and the family of the child who have given such a beautiful gift. Know that we’re all with you right now.

Thank you God and the gracious donor family for giving ALL OF US the BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER.

nhwr called me at home to let me know (I loff you, my dear), since she knew I was not usually on a computer at the weekend, then I called Dublin - she was in a car on the way from northern Cal to Arizona and sends oodles of loff too.

This is truly the best Christmas present I have ever gotten. And I say “I” because this kind, generous family who so tragically lost their own child have shown us the most selfless love we have ever seen, and their gift to Aiden was also a gift to the Hawks, and to all of us: Aiden’s tall, short, fat, thin, old, young, drug-free, drugged, dearest darlingest group of honorary aunts and uncles - a group which I am so privileged and honored to be a part of, and therefore I would like to say THANK YOU, WHOMEVER YOU ARE, FOR GIVING A PART OF YOUR LIFE TO SO MANY OF OURS.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOFF.

All the angels are watching over this very special Christmas baby! It truely is a miracle! You rest now, Lisa, Aiden will need you strong when he is ready to play in a couple of days. God Bless you all! Merry Christmas!

How’s he gonna read that magazine rolled up like that? What the … - a fly.

I’m sure the baby who lost his life for our baby Aiden will hover over him forever as his guardian angel. Bless his parents who were willing to let their child live on in another.

Also, I wanted to express my graditude and prayers for the wonderful family who shared their baby’s life with Aiden. I can only imagine the depth of their feelings, but I know they have a lot of joy mingled with their grief in knowing that another little one was given the gift of life thru their baby! God Bless. Can’t wait to hear an update! Hang in there Hawk family. We are all put here pulling for you! Midnight’s Momma.

Yay Aiden! Lisa, I’m so excited that your happy, pink little boy is back in your arms where he belongs!

Joey and Lisa, if I could send a cyber-transfer of strength I would do it in a second. I cannot imagine how the two of you are staying so strong. I imagine when Lisa is feeling weak Joey takes the reins, and vice-versa. If only we could take the reins for the both of you so you could rest.

Jingling that ol’ curb chain, think I’m gonna wear it out!
