Aiden update.. Posted Pictures! Must end the Aiden thread. Aiden is doing excellent. THANK YOU COTH!!! (137) 1/23

I too am speechless. Amazing.

I second the thought (don’t remember who posted it, sorry) that maybe the parents of the child who gave the liver, could be invited to see the BB. The auction, the jingles, the hundreds of posts filled with love for Aiden and his amazing family. I know every family is eternally grateful when a loved one recieves a donated organ, and Aiden’s “extended family” is HUGE!

Maybe it can help to comfort the family to know that their child’s liver not only went to a wonderful child, but one with international support and love for his extended family.

God bless the transplant team, Aiden, his family, Sara and every one out there that’s praying, jingling, and loving that baby!!!

Love means attention, which means looking after the things we love. We call this stable management.

YEAH!!!

You are the Champ Aiden!!!

All gave some…And some gave all…God bless the USA

Crying again — tears of relief. His will to live is so strong, that he WILL MAKE IT!

Interesting to find out that the blessed donor baby was only 3 months old. What a tragedy for his/her parents. I wish our collective prayers and love could reach them in their time of grief.

PS: Didn’t the auction raise $28,000? Not $2,800? I can see elderly people from St. Pete linking to the auction site given in the article only to find out that all that is left to buy is horse semen.

I'm an organ donor. Are you?

Hoping to hear that Aiden is doing so well (and that he and Mommy have been soo busy with all the happy consequences of improvement) that they haven’t had a free moment!

Good and happy things like; more rides and visits around the hospital; feeding a good appetite with more ounces of nourishment; good “quiet time” and cuddling; good, restful sleep and more opportunities to just take a breather!

Taking more pictures for all of Aiden’s Aunties and Uncles to "Oooh!’ and “Aaah!” over!

Excellent, awesome, incredible…I can go on and on. I can’t make it to GA to visit in Jan. but I will have my mom come down, she lives just outside of Atlanta. I know she will love a chance to get out and spoil someone a little bit!

Sarah, Lisa, Aiden, Joey, you all are an incredible inspiration.

All gave some…And some gave all…God bless the USA

I am so excited! I’m praying hard for strength as the day goes on…

Will you be in Atlanta all weekend?

Merry Christmas Aiden, keep squeezing your mommy’s finger.

I’m going to try to stay away from the computer for Christmas time with the family, but as one of the pressies will involve setting up a new computer after it is unwrapped, I know I’ll sneak a peek on Christmas morning.

Namaste,
Mel

I came back from the Mason house and the nurse had pulled his ng tube!!! I swear this is like some record! Littl lionheart is amazing not only me but the staff!

Okay I have some pictures. I will warn you they are not easy to look at. I am not posting anything bloody or yucky, but he has a lot of tubes. If that bothers you please don’t look. I see only my beautiful son lying there, but others might see something different. BUt like I said nothing yucky.

The first picture is of Aiden about 15 minutes before his transplant. He was sitting on the bed playing. He was just so happy to see his Mommy. I hadn’t seen him in 3 days. (testing Sara).

Here he is. This is before transplant, so everyone can look at this.

Aiden wants to post a message. I am holding him in my lap and he is hitting the leys:

“Friends don’t let friends have mullets.”

Today when I was leaving the barn after dropping off my daughter, a HUGE hawk flew right in front of my car and off into the field. I like to think it was a positive sign.
When we sat at dinner tonight, I told my husband, my daughter and my mom that if anything ever happened to me I want my organs donated. My husband asked which ones, and I said all and anything that would be useful to someone. Then he said “what about your brain?” and my mom said, “sure, they only take the ones that haven’t been used”. (A moment of levity here for all!)
Many prayers from my house to the Hawk family and everyone around them tonight.
Susan
