Andrew McConnon horse abuse

wow really?

Really what? Eric was banned for a period of time or the other sicko?

Him being banned from Spruce.

Ugh. I brain bleached that whole scenario. He was on this board for a bit – ā€œdefending himself.ā€

This reminds me of an email I received from one of our subs on a tender when his response to my email asking if he was going to price the roofing in a project of if we needed to do it. His response was yes. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

ā€œHimā€ being which sicko? LOL Eric or the perv?

I thought I had. Going to have to find the brain bleach again since it was brought up. If I had black nail polish I’d be throwing it out.

oh I thought the sicko was a she :joy: wrong person lol

I
meant Eric sorry. Obviously he was banned to EC and FEI but I didn’t know about that!

I can’t remember his poor stallion’s name – but he was a decent horse! Glad he wound up somewhere better!

I’m guessing the ā€œsickoā€ you are talking about is Doug Spink, who had Capone the stallion.

Eric Lamaze was banned from Spruce in the 1990s after he got caught on a drug test for taking cocaine.

Gotcha. But now I’m trying to think of female sickos! LOL

Eric was banned for a while after he regained his EC standing but he was allowed for team events, eventually the Southerns backed down on his ban.

Thank you Blugal. That’s the sicko.

I’m going to search for the brain bleach again. I’m sure it’s around here somewhere…

At least he’s dead. We attended the same college, though he started after I graduated. Definitely a weirdo…

Going back to how women are treated vs. men in the sport…
FEI suspends Charlotte Dujardin for one year: ā€˜This is a message to everyone’

This is beyond baffling to me. Literally his case could not be any more similar (except it’s actually probably worse). They have set a precedent time to follow up. Do better FEI.

His is way worse, to me. His was systematic - many many horses got the wrath of his hand. Hers appears to be a one-off.

Agreed and FEI hasn’t even started with him. One certainly wonders why when they went after her immediately.
At least, she wisely made a statement at the beginning and withdrew from everything.

Agree with everything you just said. In addition, Charlotte admitted and accepted fault, apologized, and has shown remorse and intent not to repeat. Obviously words are just words, so she will need time to back that up with action, but he hasn’t even said words. I find his case far more egregious.

My grandmother’s motto in life was to remain relentlessly cheerful. Trying to breathe a little positivity into this space - seeing Charlotte Dujardin’s suspension, I am optimistically hoping that Andrew will be treated in a similar manner since his abuse is similarly documented. :crossed_fingers:
