Another New Horse - It's Bo!

:sunglasses: STEALTH!
1st you ask if you can add a tack area to his shop.
Then you ask if a feed area would be okay.
Then you build “storage” conveniently sized like stalls…

My barn will be bigger than the shop :sunglasses: He actually suggested putting a tack room in it for the original design, but concrete is $$$ and ultimately he went with a smaller footprint.

And for today’s ride, a little video (turn your volume down if you don’t want to hear music!):

We made a circuit of the entire property and around the pastures a few times. I was armed this time, with my nice heavy XC whip, which I only needed for a light tap once or twice. Otherwise, he was all business as we ‘checked the fences’… or, that’s what I told him we were doing.

These may be some of the best before/after pics I’ve ever seen. I cannot believe how thick his shoulder/girth area has gotten. What a hunk!

And LOVE the music on the latest video!

I don’t believe I have posted either of these pictures before, but the difference in his croup is astounding:

Looking at how he’s filling out I might have a very old Albion that would fit him. It fit my QHs broad back. If you have any interest shout at me for info. I’d make it my congratulations on that booty gift to Bo.

Its hard to imagine he was a rack of bones. It hurts looking at the photo on the left, then my heart is overwhelmed with the photo on the right.

You did an amazing job saving his life Heinz

“Bo’s Theme”! I love it!
I once knew a chestnut gelding named Theme Song. Now Bo has his own!

A late comer to this thread, but my last two evenings have been spent reading it from go to whoa! Does my heart a lot of good to see this beautiful boy taken from despair to a blooming picture of what love and respect can do.

What a roller coaster you and Bo have been on. You are one amazing human, Heinz_57. Bo’s journey has been fraught with ups and downs, the vaccination reaction, the stay at the vet hospital (how he hated that once he knew he wanted to live with you)…his ‘discerning’ tastes, teeth problems, stone-and-shavings poop problems… heck, even “just how old am I?”

His transformation is beyond the words I have to congratulate you. The ‘comparison’ photos are stunning. I love that he loves having a job to do, too. His protests (if that’s what he calls them) are adorable. So are his legs. And his face. And his lovely butt.

Walkin’ through Friday on the buckle like…

Bo is a red headed John Travolta!!! I love how his walk lined up with “you can tell by the way I use my walk I’m a ladies’ man…” That just made my afternoon.

Yeah, he can be a little lackadaisical with the pace  but when he gets into power walking, the beat almost lines up!
