He looks right down happy, slick and shiny, life is good.
He knows that we’re all drooling over his tush. Love how he waves his tail. “Right cheek, girls!” Swish, swish. “Annnnnd, left cheek!” Swish. “Here it is again, for all you right cheek fans! Ohhhh, yeeaah, girls. Junk and funk in the truuuunnnnnk!”
I believe it’s a Philip Glass piece.
He has certainly caught on to the camera. I can’t tell if he’s waiting tor you to turn away so he can unlatch the fence, or if he’s working with you to get his best profile for his fans like @ZuzusPetals thinks.
Either way, y’all are a good team!
He’s never really grasped the whole posing for pictures thing He’s trying to decide whether he should leave or come try to stand on top of me, because there is no in between with him!
Not gonna lie, he’s close to being chubby. Good for winter. LOL
He looks a bit like a celebrity being annoyed by an autograph hunter
Yes!
I love him! You just wanna go pat that big ole booty. I had to go back and look at the first pic… and here it is, and then his September pic. You’re sure you didn’t swap out another horse, right?
It’s by Boris Skalsky.
That’s okay. I’m sure he is a happy, happy boy flashing a little extra fat.
I have really enjoyed his journey. You have done such an amazing job bringing him back to health.
He does look good! Is he still enjoying his Purina Sr?
It’s been a long road, but at the same time it seems like it has gone by so quickly I am so grateful for all his COTH cheerleaders, living with us through the ups and downs over the last 11 months. It has been a big support for me, especially during the rocky times.
He fell out of love with Purina senior this summer, and we switched over to ProElite senior. When that got a little boring, I mixed in Dumor Hay Stretcher pellets and discovered that he thinks that stuff is CANDY. Currently he gets a ~50/50 mix of the two, and I top dress it with a partial serving of v/m. From a nutritional perspective it’s not the most ideal diet, but it’s what he will tolerate, so that’s what we do. As usual.
I also give him about 1/2 a flake of gorgeous alfalfa a day to pick through, because if I don’t he will beg for it.
I now present to you, the shiny new Pony Chateau.
I might have to sell my soul to pay for it, and I might be ripping out my hair right now trying to source the appropriate interior accoutrements, and it MIGHT only be housing hay right this minute.
BUT I’m still excited, even if it’s just a shell.
I thought that was SO’s workshop?! Did Bo work him over?
The shop is that skeleton in the background to the left that is slowly coming along… DH is still accumulating roof/siding materials to finish it. I took the easy/quick (expensive) route and paid to have the barn building put up.
I think we name is Bo’s Bungalow? Or Heinz’s Homestead?
Congratulations, it’ll be nice to have a place out of the weather.
Friend who moved to a place with a similar bare bones building simply put up portable panels as stalls, with rubber mats over the concrete. Has worked for her for years.
Or, could you move the pipe corrals from outside into the building.
This is the plan, I’ll build permanent stalls next year, but I need to line the bare metal walls before I can move everyone inside. The way I wanted to do it is proving to be more difficult than I imagined, so we’re moving on to plan B. If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll be able to get them moved in this weekend.
A place I boarded at for several years had a somewhat similar building, welded construction, and they lined their walls with a double thickness of 3/4" exterior grade plywood. Held up fine during the years I boarded there.
