Most of the ‘human interest’ horse rehab stories I see published are centered around horses who return to the show ring (and usually win!), so it doesn’t surprise me that nobody has done a story on the geriatric pasture horse 
That’s OK with me. He brings me plenty of joy just seeing his fat butt asleep in the pasture!
@jvanrens it does seem to be coming in a little bit more, maybe this year it won’t fall out!
Just like everyone else…he looks tired of the heat already.
I have not been good at updates this summer!
Bo is currently at my house, along with his buddy, while his family is on vacation this week. The donkeys are being taken care of by the house sitter, but the lessee was worried that the old guys would be too much work for a non-horsey sitter, so we brought them here.
He is doing well! His topline is a little less filled in than I’d like, but overall he’s in fine condition and his appetite is good. He still talks up a storm every time the meal train shows up.
He looks great! It must be such a good feeling to have found a family that takes care of him so well, especially with all his… ahem… quirks about food! 
I am grateful that she loves him so much 
because honestly, his diet isn’t cheap. But he fits in just perfectly over there and seems quite happy with himself. Definite a one in a million home, for sure.
It’s good to see him again. He looks great.
Bo looks great! How did he react when he arrived at your place? Did he remember that he used to live there?
My sad old heart is feeling a bit happier after seeing your update. He looks wonderful!
He was mildly intrigued to be going on a field trip, but both of them settled in pretty much as soon as I let them go. Yup, another field, let’s go find a tree to stand under

I agree, it does. All my others are pretty polite with their dinner excitement too… Except Peach, who still screams at me like he’s dying even though he has a hay mountain in front of him 24/7
“Feed ME! I am hungry!” whickers are literally my favorite sound and Bo’s got a good one.
My gelding was loud, and if I was late there was some foot stomping as well.
I miss him.
