Anybody know their TB's racing name?

Lets see… I’ve had lots through my barn (my own, CANTER fosters, and other assorted kids on their way to the TRF or other homes…)

-Imagineer (my KICK BUTT eventer! total failure at the track, but he jumps the moon)
-Witto Road (my future event mare…once I have time!)
-Cheq’s A Comin’ (by the same sire as Meredith Clark’s gelding.)
-Chunk of Coal (a Storm Cat granddaughter who is hanging out and grown up at my farm)
-Noboxwine (an adorable Seattle Slew granddaughter…also growing up)
-Dancing Villian (in foal to Reputed Testamony… very very :D:D)
-None Like You (now a polo pony with my vet… who loves her)
-Gaetano’s Way (CANTER NE foster… won over $100K on the track)
-Built Up (waiting to go to the TRF… won nearly $800K)
-Jazzbit (now housed with a lovely woman in Northern Vermont)
-Lou Lou’s A Gamer (stayed with me until she shipped to EqTrainer’s farm :))
-Raw General (now in the TRF…at the ripe old age of 5)
-Purple Pirate (currently in training to be a hunter/jumper ride)
-Jeff’s Gal (I think… his tattoo is faded, and that’s the match I got…evented thru prelim under Lunch Box II)

And with the closing of Suffolk Downs I’m sure there will be more to come :sigh::lol:

Never Time was my first OTTB,
Black Halo, by Prospector’s Halo, is my current BFF. He was bred in Florida and raced in California.

My older guy was A-Plus by Tom Fool, current mare Aye’s A Copper Penny by Aye’s Turn.
I’m looking at an OTTB (vetting on Friday!) and his name is Private Pleasure. That sounds a bit dirty to me, so I might be changing it if I get him. He came from a place in WV called Mountaneer.
So congrats are in order for you then??
I found this horse for the current owner (I’m the “in” at the track) and had a wonderful feeling about him. Good luck to you, he’s going to be something special! also…FWIW, I loff his racing name !

My current horse is Lord Hansel. He’s a 1995 model by Hansel. 29 starts with only one win and earning about 11k.
Others I currently own are Spider Murphy a 2002 model by Wonneberg out of Keepaneyeoutforme by Gold Fever and Doc’s Peak a 2003 model by Emigrant Peak out of Docs Lady by Doc’s Leader.

Used to own and unraced mare named Attitude Plus and now have a filly out of her that I bred and raised named Simply Sealy but I won’t ever run her.

Mine are…

Code Wind
Watral’s Nat Star
Rudy S
Snake River

We just put our OTTB, Phaltless Forbes aka Lady, out to grass today, literally - she’s officially retired to 20 acres of Kansas’ best. She was Oklahoma-bred St. Forbes out of Native Phalt - pity they didn’t choose the “Dancer” part of her pedigree rather than the “Asphalt” - and never raced probably because of a starting gate accident which may have ended her racing but not her spirit or willingness to please.

My new guy’s name is Rosenball. I can’t wait to get him home!!

Here’s the link to the complete “TBs I Have Known” list from the racing forum.

Apologies if someone’s already posted the link and I missed it!

Naughty Gerty

Sire - Cahill Road…his sire was Fappiano which I see is often referenced the in Eventing forum

Dam - Bad Gerty

Here is a link to Cahill’s pedigree and far as I can tell he’s still standing in stud:

Wish I could find a picture from her racing days.

Names

My mares name was Hey Teach by Electric Blue out of Scholarly. She was foaled 3 May 1990. I purchased her from my trained who got her from her owner who was a vet in WV. When we picked her up, her halter was embedded into her head and she was 400lbs underweight. The owner had no explanation and was reported to the authorities. We also got another mare that night named Banner Year who was in the same shape, but had a club foot as well.

Mine is by Our Emblem as well.

Loveton He’s a 2004 model. By Our Emblem out of a stakes winning Sonny Halo mare called Dianes Halo. Had over 20 starts and won a little under 50K.

Here is his glamour shot below.

Other one is Stole the Quarters

Shes a 2007 mare. Just starting her retraining and will hopefully make someone a lovely little horse.

Vetting a new one tomorrow so maybe I will have another! I’ve had many others in the past but my current herd is mostly full of unraced horses.

Since this thread got bumped I’ll add to it.

when I bought Char (August 93), I was told her name was Lady Chardinan. However, no papers and a reading-challenged tattoo meant it could be anything. And turns out it was (I was also told she was 8 and turned out to be 6). A few YEARS later, I finally deciphered the mystery. Lady Chardinan was actually “Tippateena” (out of Fun Lover by Sing Sing). I even was able to track down photographs of her 2 wins at Turfway. Initially I hated the name and was glad to stick with Lady Chardinan. I found out later as I talked to the breeder that Tippateena’s is (was?) a jazz club in New Orleans in a tough part of town. Her sire line was Sing Sing by Stop the Music (Hail to Reason son)… so I guess the musical reference was appropriate.

Purchased Frankie at a track auction in October 2004 as a 4yo. She was easy… registered and raced as Hey Baby Hey. I showed her as that the first year and sold her the next December. She’s now competing as Let’s Be Frank and is looking at the CCI** at Chatt Hills. I couldn’t be prouder!

My mare’s racing name was Seneca Wind. Montreal Red x Friendly Goose. She has Secretariat, Exceller, and Cannonade three generations back.http://www.pedigreequery.com/seneca+wind

She won about 40,000 on the turf, over five years of racing. She wasn’t spectacular at it, so when she got injured coming out of starting gate in a spring race, her owner very generously gave her to me. I found my mare through Goodhorse.org (shameless plug, but these people are great) run by Kim Clark.

Seneca was a Florida bred but I got her from Bowie Training center in Maryland. The owner even signed over her papers to me incase I wanted to breed her at some point, and I got her transfered in to my name through the Jockey Club.

I’ve never had a TB much less an OTTB, but she’s fabulous.

I have 3 OTTBs.

Bett’s Jet
Kissy Kiss
Sons of Liberty

The first two are broodmares, so pedigree is important and therefore, solidly old-school.

The third is a 3YO who raced at 2. He’s big, sound, athletic, and intelligent.

Two of mine are horses we raced so I know their history:
For Pete’s Sake
Tipping

And the third is the mare I mentioned before named Attitude Plus. I have her back after 6 years of not owning her.
Spider Murphy passed away unexpectedly on 10/31/10 at the age of 8.

I have a ton of TBs here that we race and some that are on lay up or who will be bred next spring.

Lit de justice

My boy, Lit de Edwardo, is a 2004 out of Lit de Justice and Rosie An Half Lit. Had 33 starts mostly in Charleston, bred in Cali. I am sure everyone remembers the 98 breeders cup with his dad! He had 5 wins and a few other placings! Very scopey and very very smart! Just got him in March and we are doing our first BN in November! Love the opportunity to share him! Cute grey pony :).

Toby is “Go Senor Go”. http://www.pedigreequery.com/go+senor+go

Terribly unimpressive as far as I can tell. But, really, who cares as long as he’s as wonderful as he is!

Tucson still goes by his race name Tucson Magic. (I think I posted that earlier in this thread prior to the bump.)

The NTRA Aftercare site featured him, and last week I heard from his race owners! I was thrilled to hear from them, because he was clearly well taken care of his whole life, not just with the fabulous people from whom I bought him. I found out where he lived out on pasture through his two year old year before starting his racing career, why they loved his bloodlines when they bought him at auction, etc. They’re going to come out to our place to visit and bring the scrapbook they made during his racing career, with his grand total of 11 races and one win.

At his vet check, my vet had trouble believing he even evented to Training, much less ever raced, based upon how great his flexions were. Clearly his owners and their trainer took great care of their horses!

and Oakridge Star http://www.pedigreequery.com/oakridge+star

I show the last 2 with their JC names, hoping it will help my eventing Karma (I remaned the last couple and they didn’t work out as well).

Don’t believe any would be considered well bred for sport.
