I think the coverage is all filmed by the BBC and FEI TV just take the version without the commentary (and possibly add their own?) The setup and filming costs of filming a whole cross country course is immense and that is I think why they only follow the brits - because they are economising by purchasing the BBC stream. I’m not saying it’s right - it is frustrating, just trying to explain. I’m not sure how it can change in the future I’ m not sure you can lay the cables etc for multiple TV crews.
I’m guessing Eliza is getting buried by the lead, two brits on course. Becky’s ride has not been as nice to watch as the commenters say,
Stream worked great for me for a while, but has been cutting in and out since Jung’s round. But even if I’d had the stream, I don’t think they showed much/any of Donner?
Go Johnny go!!!
Johnny’s just flowing! Keep it up!
Finally, only took getting two brits off the course, Go Elisa
Eliza and Jonny are doing so well!! Go E team but he does look a bit tired
En Twitter reporting that the Brit who fell at fence 2 with the hold on course was helicoptered to the hospital
C’mon Johnny!!!
Showing the entire Brazilian ride and no Eliza
Kmwines - did that message mean to say ‘holy crap, what is she doing?!’
She’s going backwards. This is horrible viewing
They were looking winded and if that is the case, are we looking at an issue we, the US, cannot condition horses for this level? Those fences were heart stopping
Oh dear Lord a fall at the last. Johnny was looking SO tired at the end.
Oh how sad…poor Johnny was just exhausted. Really feeling terrible for Eliza.
Oh Johnny!!! Fall at the last!!! I’ve never seen him look so tired and I almost wondered if something was off with him… heartbreaking
Oh For f’s sake. The last fence. This was a case of she needed to retired that horse way before.
That was sad
commentators were kind - horse was exhausted
I am a hunter rider and my cross-country experience is limited to working for a timber racing/hunting barn and fitting horses up for hunt season.
That said, Simply Priceless looked ready to retire about 7 fences away from the end, and I was waiting for a mistake out of weariness. I’m sorry it happened and I hope the horse is all right. It looked like there was nothing left.
edited to add frankly that appeared unhorsemanlike.
