Balou du Rouet 2010/2011 offspring?

Karin - Thanks for the detailed info! Bobby and Danica are very good friends of mine and have spoken very highly of your youngsters  After having my first Balou foal I can see why he’s your favorite sire. I told the SO (who’s also a vet) I’d like to use Balou on all of our mares because I like this filly so much! It makes his job easier too since the semen is so good

Our first Balou du Rouet GRANDSON has arrived!

Hello Everyone!
Bleu SCF Ster has finally foaled! At the civilized hour of 10 pm last night, Bleu SCF Ster (Balou du Rouet X Silvio 1 Elite Preferent) gave birth to her first foal, a healthy, GORGEOUS, chestnut colt, with four high white stockings (over knees and hocks), splotches on his left knee, and a wide blaze, that extends over his chin. Beautiful, dished head, and very well conformed! We are over the moon! Looking for “G” name suggestions… The colt’s breeding is (LUPICOR X BALOU DU ROUET STER X SILVIO 1 ELITE PREFERENT) .

Photos can be viewed on my facebook page, or the KWPN Member’s page here :

Or on the website later today at www.sportingchancefarm.com .

Enjoy!

Congrats Karin, your new boy looks SUPER love his fancy, fancy markings, way to go Bleu.

Look forward to see more photos of him, I guess we do not have to ask where all the chrome came from  I can really see the Balou blood in him.

By the way, some nice lady and a great rider has a Balou gelding that just won a big class in Holland, she sent me some photos and information so I am going to post on our facebook page if I am able to copy the link, she sent a great photo of him jumping, great scope on this horse, also a chestunt with tons of chrome and a lovely, lovey type.

New photos up…

Many photos now up on the website of our as yet unnamed colt (Lupicor X Balou du Rouet Ster X Silvio 1 Elite Preferent)…

Thanks Michelle!!! Looking forward to seeing the photos!!

Thanks for posting Karin, your colt looks very, very nice.

If anyone want to see how our Balou Glowstick is looking at two months I just put some photos of him on FB last week- the ones at the end of his gallery are new.

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.208657522492070.58926.195805160443973

Glowstick is going to be very tall he is one of the tallest two month old foals we have had, I go by leg length at this age, his mom is a tall mare.

The more I am around this guy the more I love him he is just full of himself in a nice way and he is fearless. Right now he is pissed because we had to take his buddy out of his paddock our mini Ronan you can see photos of them together in the above link, well the mini is old he must be in his 30s- we got him from a rescue place many years ago- and Glowstick wants to play with him all the time and poor Ronan can not keep up anymore like he use to :frowning: so I had to seperate them.

Glowstick has been calling for him for days it is very sad as he just loves Ronan more than he loves his own mom I think.

The other day when taking Ronan to another paddock Glowstick saw him from a long way away he left his mom and came running and full speed to try to see Ronan up close and Ronan called back to Glowstick.

Minis are the best they really are! I have more photos of the two of them playing that I will have to post.

Here are some photos of an 8 year old Balou (sorry waiting to hear the mare line) he just won at 1.40m and now is showing 1.50m in Holland. His owner has had him since he was 6 and said he is a real personality, it took him some time to mature, he is also a good size.
Balou offspring are slower to mature I think.

I hope these two links work, if not I will have to find another way to make the links work.

I recently purchased my Balou filly. She is 2 yrs old and is rather small. 15.2 currently. I am hoping its true they mature slowly. Are most of you finding this to be true? She is so sweet and very personable. I adore her. She is out of Jete who is Balta Czar and Aslan’s dam at Jump Start Farm.

Hi Michelle!
Unfortunately, the links didn’t work for me… Could you please repost them? TIA!

Hi Karin,
Can you post photos on here I think you can so I am going to email a few of the Balou to you to post here his owner said it was OK to post them.

Yes sorry I could not make the link work not sure what I did wrong.

Sorry Michelle…

Can’t post photos… Not a Premium member anymore…

Karin - The link won’t work . . . :frowning:

Part of the reason I chose Balou for my girls last year was because I heard great things from Bobby and Danica about your youngsters  Glad to hear they’re in such capable hands!

Prima- I’m happy to post pics if you e-mail them to me. jessica@naniliofarm.com

We just had our second Balou last night!! Dark bay filly w/ four whites, star, and snip

I am over the moon not only because I think she’s simply adorable and she’s a keeper for me but because it was a stressful lead up to the foaling. Maiden mare streamed milk for 3 weeks prior to foaling (starting around day 300  ) I had to leave town for the SO to have surgery and although she was left in very capable diligent hands I really wanted to be there for this foaling. Well, she listened to her pep talk before I left because she waited until minutes before we arrived home to go into labor. Excellent delivery and and a healthy, strong, and fully cooked filly!! She’ll get plasma this am and then many pictures to follow.
