I would think if the cops moved the phones, for whatever reason, they, being cops, would have noticed while moving them if one was so soaked in blood it wouldn’t dial.

Not so much.
It is SOP with animal control that a dog biting a human be quarantined for a 10 day period to rule out the possibility of rabies.
The particulars vary by state, and, in most cases, a vaccinated animal is required to be kept secure–home confinement is usually accepable-- and leash walked by an adult.

It seems LE spent more time interviewing people at the barn than “working” the actual scene.

I believe there was a 3 man team to go through the house and then the barn and the crime scene investigators outside and I think it started raining when they arrived…

I’ll accept your assertion that there were texts between MB and MHG that indicated they wanted to apply emotional pressure and get to her to ‘self select’ and just leave the farm.

I agree completely. I can not imagine the fury that would leave my lips after I had paid 5k to debug my own property, hired my dear hay guy for security for $100 a night, and after I had to move my mattress to sleep on my barn porch after being booted from my house. I would not have handled the situation well.

All of this also makes me realize the added expenses of having LK on the property, not just the good deal of 5k a month in exchange for board, living arrangements for 2 humans (assuming RG was part of the deal) and full training for 2 horses . It also makes the argument of “MB needed LK’s 5k a month to survive” even more ridiculous considering what he was shelling out.

What a shame self defense was not allowed. Would have been interesting. The verdict was a win in so many ways regardless.

Y’all were laughing at him when he testified in the trial for running and ducking back into the house with MB shooting and LK bleeding out. There were scurrilous things said about his courage. So if he dove back into the house and then ran back out of the house to tackle MB when he wasn’t shooting, how would the dog have stayed in?

Then maybe LK shouldn’t have mischaracterized his heroics for two years. The prosecutor is the one who portrayed him as fleeing into the house for all the world to hear in both his opening and closing statements.

ETA: fleeing into the house like the prosecution described is the expected response. Dodging bullets like LK suggests is the unrealistic one.

RG may well be the man of the hour, hero of the day. He kept himself safe, he kept his gf from additional injury and death, he showed appropriate restraint when subduing a shooter. He may have kept MHG and her dad safe along with others.

What is it with you and MHG? You’re pretty much the only one that ever mentions her.

To those who have accused me of spending every waking hour on this forum - malarkey! Since 5 PM yesterday I have:

Made a fresh coconut cake
Baked a ham
Made 5 lbs of potato salad
Made a large bowl of pasta salad
Fried 30 pieces of chicken
Made a pan of baked beans

All to be taken shortly and dropped off for an evening picnic for 2022 graduates that one of my social groups organized.

I googled it to find out how it is often used. Comes right up in Hunter S Thompson articles. Not one reference to Jimmy Cagney movies, The Godfather, Scarface, Ozark, Zero Zero Zero…

Why lie? That is not what google results in. When searching the exact terms on google, 39 results occur. Only one of those results have anything to do with Hunter. S. Thompson. That is not even what he says. When searching google for the exact term “Finish the Bastard,” the most results pulled are from an Israeli situation where Israel accuses China of anti-semitism. The reporting agency says “Bring it on. Just finish the bastard.” All of the comments and information are in Israeli. The single result to Hunter S. Thompson regarding a letter containing the quote somewhat close to “Finish the Bastard” is actually - “ Just to finish the Bastard is enough.” However, the letter has so many serious racial slurs that I can not post the letter to the forum. Why any Hunter S. Thompson fan would idealize this letter is beyond me. It is not a well known letter but part of a series of letters that were sold. Who wants to immortalize such a racist letter? The Rum Diaries also had extremely strong racial undertones (references to Nazism and is probably his most racist work). Why Rum Diaries and this letter would be significant or a favorite piece to any Thompson fan is beyond me. It makes the quote “Finish the Bastard” even more disturbing if it is actually pulled from this letter because the letter is so profoundly racist.

Even if two people google the exact same words, google uses lot of information about person asking and will provide different answers to different people. It may well depend on the person’s search history, geographic location and who knows what else. Just because you got a different response does not mean that @hut-ho78 lied.

I predict with all these logical theories floating around that the OTHER side will grow desperate and post ridiculous things in an attempt to derail the conversation. We must be getting very close to the actual scenario. And the more ridiculous the post, the more fearful they must be.

How would anyone tell? I don’t think the current and past Barisone threads have ever lacked for preposterous posts.

Ok, now you have done it. What time is this shindig and where?

The fresh coconut cake is crazy easy!

Prepare a yellow cake mix according to package directions in a 13 x 9(?) pan. Cool two minutes after removing from the oven. Using a fork, poke holes all over the surface of the cake. Pour a full can of well stirred coconut milk over the surface of the cake and cool completely. Once cooled spread an entire tub of CoolWhip over the cake and top with bagged or freshly grated coconut. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours (overnight is better). The result is an insanely moist, delicious cake that will disappear in minutes! Extra tip, I usually add a teaspoon of Almond Flavoring in the cake batter for extra oomph.
