Barisone assessment

Just a general comment but certain psychopathy cannot be cured.

I suspect LK will sue USEF if anything goes in a way she dislikes. Then complain that she isn’t treated deferentially.

She may not have been on trial, but she certainly did help the defense more than the prosecution in her actions and behavior on the stand. The same goes for RG. Those two were not on trial, but came out looking awfully bad. I think she did a good job making herself look bad. I feel sorry that your daughter is such a disturbed person.

From an outsider perspective, I too still think settlement by all parties on all claims would be for the best for all. MB is not a young person and he has already lost time. This will consume more of his life as the litigation will require extensive money, time, and emotional resources. Litigation ages people and takes a health toll. He will have to be actively involved for years.

And she needs to get help that a lawsuit will not provide and litigation will allow for her to just drill down deeper and not move on with her life in a positive way.

I think regardless of money awarded per trial there will be a heavy toll by all parties. We all only have so much time on this earth and you can’t get time back, it is finite.

I think sometimes they are responded to because it is simply hard to let things that are incorrect sit there stated as fact and not comment.

Thank you @trubandloki! You expressed 100% of what I feel much better than I could!

I hope whatever route he chooses that he is given support by his friends and community.

I don’t think her family [edit] see her delusions. They would have to admit their complicity in creating her. Parents train their children to be like LK. Someone made her, and gave her permission to continue in her delusions. Her family covers for her, and I don’t think there are any friends. Just my opinion.

I’m wondering how this all looks to a lawyer.

Lawyers are savvy creatures. They won’t do a civil case on contingency unless they think there’s a 99 per cent chance of getting enough payout to cover their own expenses and time.

And the cost to actually pay a lawyer up front for a big trial like this is going to be high and escalating. Lawyers obviously will work pro bono or on cases with riskier outcomes if they want to make a political or legal point or there’s something career enhancing on taking on a novel case.

There’s nothing professionally or legally interesting about this case and the clients have already shown themselves to be problematic and to treat their own lawyers poorly (tape recording the eviction lawyer without his consent). It’s not going to be an easy one to win. The lawyer involved will end up tainted a bit by having an unreliable client that lies on the witness stand.

This will be a pay up front case most probably. And my thought is that dad might not be willing to part with more money assuming her new house was paid for by him. With 20% down and/or the monthly payments, insurance and most likely about $5000/yr for property taxes PLUS the costs of renovation there might not be a lot of $$$ left over for lawyers. I’m thinking they will want to settle very much.

Let’s pretend that isn’t to someone’s taste or liking. The case goes to trial and the person who lost in the court of public opinion loses again - can anything be done to force said individual to pay up in full?

Pay who? Their lawyer or the prevailing side?

Do juries on civil cases have to reach a unanimous decision?

What can you get from someone who doesn’t and hasn’t worked and is kept by their parents? :woman_shrugging:

Apparently not in NJ. This website says:

“ In a civil trial, five jurors (out of six)are needed to return a verdict in favor of one party or the other”

Comment from a mental health professional who not only broke the law by carrying her personal firearm across state lines into a state where she was not licensed but then gave it to the wrong person who used it in a delusion to shoot LK twice in the chest.

Now everyone has shown up.

Maybe he broke her before he shot her twice in the chest instead of her breaking him.

I hope she does continue riding regardless of injuries, the physical and and mental trauma of MB shooting her twice in the chest, and the relentless taunting and abuse heaped on her by SM posts. That would be a great comeback and 48 hours follow up.

How can responding to Lauren’s own actions and social media posts be “relentless taunting and abuse heaped on her by SM posts”?

She put it out there. That is on her. If people respond to it, so be it.

And if wishes were horses, beggars would ride!

You cannot just achieve a successful riding career through money or osmosis. It takes a lot of riding and dedication to the sport. In this case, it remains to be seen!
