He grew up in an abusive home. That likely helps explain much about his reactions to the bizarre actions of LK, RG, and JK and I would guess KK as well, considering her assertion she was on the farm, witness yo the day to day

Very good point - Thank You for adding on, and giving us more to consider when evaluating the theory set forth by @CurrentlyHorseless that MB calling 911 in the days leading up to the shooting was part of a calculated and deliberate campaign of harassment he was waging on LK and RG.

Post 3376 arrived at a conclusion that ignored the part where MB said he couldn’t sleep for trying to keep up with expenses. The information within the post contradicted the written conclusion.

It does indicate he had cash flow problems as did I think the testimony of at least one of the mental health professionals who said he brought her back to New Jersey in 2019 because he needed the money.

Nope, you’re wrong. Post 3376 contains the transcript from the trial. “Cash flow problems” was never spoken in testimony. It was said MB had to be careful with his money and that has been wildly misinterpreted since.

So careful he couldn’t sleep at night especially with a payout of $965,000, 3 horses possibly valued in the 6 figures, loss of his spouse’s income and her management ability (he credited publicly with making it possible for him to train and compete).

He was not yet in partnership with MHG and she testified she contributed nothing to his business except riding horses (which is a very good value in itself at her level of expertise) and she had 8-9 horses on-site with no board.

If the term “cash flow problems” is obtainable perhaps “expenses induced insomnia” would be more acceptable.

Not being able to sleep can cause hallucinations after about 3 days and one’s decision making ability is degraded.

His breakdown could have already been well underway just because of not sleeping because of anxiety over expenses due to the divorce.

If you look at the active shooter description in the link, he checks all the boxes. Also, a different point, the police did well. No one died. The paper gives the ideal but then explains 1 or 2 officers may have to act and they need life saving equipment to do so. They did.

This is a terrible tragedy that did not need to happen. I hope they both continue to heal, they recover, and do well moving forward.

It’s adorable when you think everyone doesn’t already know what pushed MB over the edge - LK.

He was buried under stress. Divorce. New relationship with problems. Cash flow worries. Loss of income and business manager (wife). Ice busted pipes and damage to house. Bouts of depression. 8-9 past concussions plus being in his mid-fifties. Without those issues, with his experience and celebrated charm, he should have been able to have dealt with LK, one client, with ease, just doing business. This was a situation that did not have to end the way it did. Tragically.

What does “being in his mid-fifties” mean? Or why does it matter much? I have not reached that age yet. Does something crazy happen when you do?

I have reached that age and I am no more crazy than I was when I was younger!! And physically, as with most horse people in this age range, I’m still rocking it! CH is spewing ageism at its finest and I for one find it extremely insulting.

Congratulations on your good health! Just so you know, if you stay healthy, you get to keep having colonoscopies after the age of 75.

So here’s the thing - my mother died of colon cancer. So I started my colonoscopies in my 40’s and if I have to have them every few years it is a small price to pay to avoid an unnecessary death. As with mammograms, gyno and every other preventive test we do to avoid all manner of cancers, etc. It is also my understanding that doctors are now recommending colonoscopies begin for everyone in their 40’s. So buckle up! It’s really not so bad - at least they knock you out for that one!

I had to start in my 40s as well. A relative just found out they don’t get the get out of colonoscopy free card because they are over 75. They are a young 77.

Another relative works on cancer research and said colonoscopies are the only procedure that actually prevent cancer (the removal of polyps). The other tests can find some cancers early and mitigate the effect, allow for a cure, but only colonoscopies actually prevent it.

Seeker has no idea what her husband was involved in! She was on a cruise or at Bible study and completely kept out of the picture. Anything she says now is what she has been told by LK or JK. Understandably she lives in her own idea of the truth. Bless her heart.

Interesting. It hadn’t occurred to me that the source of funds could be something someone would not want exposed. I was thinking more along the lines of how unusual it is to have someone in their 40s who does not manage/have access to their own money, if it is, indeed, their own. My parents haven’t written cheques for me since the pre-uni years.

Again, you people go to all lengths to find negativity. What do I think of it? I think I would have said the same thing! Examples of actions I might take include having the power to the house turned off, giving them the cold shoulder, telling the farrier not to shoe her horses, completely and utterly ignore her.

See how easy it is to tilt the slant of a narrative? What can’t be tilted are LK/JK/RG’s ACTIONS, including the testimonies of RG & LK.

The “go to all lengths” and “overstatement” was MB’s with “make their lives so miserable they would beg to leave.”.

That’s not a normal day to day activity of those who have or keep their “noses clean”. Imo

There has been no evidence that KK was a part of anything except support at horse shows and her own SM posts of cooking brunch. JK hired ED to negotiate LK’s exit from the farm and they were both overseas for the end. Great imagination but way off the mark that they were involved in any tit for tat at this point. The father did not testify in the criminal proceedings.

I call COMPLETE BS on this. The recording operation was MOST CERTAINLY designed to harass him. She was routinely posting details of his recorded private conversations with 3rd parties on social media in a cryptic manner, for weeks leading up to the shooting. The whole point of this behavior was to intimidate him, make him feel paranoid, etc. It’s obvious harassment.

Cancer survivor here. Breast. My mom had colon cancer, as well as breast. My 4 siblings and I all started colonoscopies in our 30’s. 3 of the 5 of us have already had polyps removed.

I routinely tell people To think colonoscopies are FAR more effective than mammograms when it comes to mitigating cancer risk. They should be prioritized.

Seeker - do you care to shed any light whatsoever on whether or not there is something unusual, or possibly embarrassing about how your family accumulated sufficient funds to support your daughter’s riding?

For the record… I’m not accusing you or your loved ones of being involved in anything criminal. Just… perhaps there is something about the source of the funds that you all do not wish to make public?

With 100% certainty the source of LK’s money will be brought out in the trial as well as JK’s involvement in it.
