Barisone assessment

Holy Moly @ekat! Thank you for posting this timeline.

Is anyone else struck by how insanely BUSY these people were over the course of three days?

The word that comes to mind is frenzied.

Like piranhas when they smell blood in the water. Every bit as merciless.

Does anyone really believe that all it would take was an eviction notice to make her go peacefully? I’d say the actions we know about prove differently.

Can you imagine what else was going on that didn’t make it into the trial or police reports? (In between naps)

Stupid thread humor.
When I was a kid (dinosaurs were around I think), I really thought everyone was saying six and one half dozen. I totally never understood where it came from, or how it meant that things were the same, but that is what I heard, six and one half dozen.

“Six of one, half dozen of the other” is how I learned it.

Agreed.

Looking back on the manifesto and the timeline of key events over the last few days, as you have laid them out?

What it looks like to me is a CLASSIC case of narcissistic injury.

Narcissistic injury is a specific thing. It is typically followed by narcissistic rage.

The narcissistic injury in question? The eviction notice. I honestly think that was a key thing for LK. Just look at what she wrote in the manifesto. Look at the jealousy and preoccupation with MHG. Look at how she fixates on the meeting in March when MHG allegedly asked her to leave… but then MB overruled her in front of LK in the meeting, and came up with a plan to keep LK on as a client.

It’s pretty obvious how that whole thing was key to LK. Her entire argument is that if not for MHG, she would have gotten along fine with MB, and there would be no issues.

Then… it finally happens. She actually receives an eviction notice.

From Michael.

And that was a narcissistic injury for LK. And the narcissistic rage immediately followed.

That’s actually how I frequently hear it too  it’s as if the shorthand way of saying it erased the meaning :upside_down_face:

Not once, but twice! Email on the 5th, served on the 6th. Up until that point, somebody could maybe believe they didn’t know they were supposed to go, despite all evidence to the contrary. But TWICE in writing, she gets official notice, one reinforcing the other, in case the intent of the first wasn’t perfectly clear. She didn’t start packing, she raged instead.

If you want someone gone, often an excellent way to induce them to leave is to raise the fees.

Do you sincerely think she would have left if the fees were raised?

Or do you think she would have argued?

Maybe one day we’ll hear MB’s side, like in the civil suit, and find out that was one more step he tried. Right now we are relying on the testimony of two witnesses who have repeatedly, despite the evidence, said no one told them to leave. What if there’s more?

So much THIS.

Narcissistic injury/rage is real. And highly dangerous.

Many crimes of passion/murders are actually NR.

Imaginations are working overtime today. I guess after accusing LK of nefarious activities and her family of more nefarious activities last night, y’all are blowing smoke screens like crazy. Must have been a full moon.

Interesting how you declare yourself the expert on threats.

Yes michael was completely mad and still is.

How do you know?

Good point.

I found an interesting bit of quick reading on narcissistic injury and narcissistic rage… it’s interesting.

Here’s the link:

Here are a few key excerpts:

Narcissistic rage ” is a term coined by Heinz Kohut in his book The Analysis of the Self when it was published in 1972. It occurs when the narcissist perceives he is being personally “attacked” by someone else.

Grandiose self-worth, vanity, and entitlement are basic characteristics of this disorder; when these are challenged it often leads to narcissistic rage.

Narcissistic rage is a reaction to” narcissistic injury”- a perceived threat to their self-worth or self-esteem.

It’s very common for narcissists to be thin-skinned, and to experience bouts of intense anger – which we call narcissistic rage . And the two traits are related.

Scholars believe that anger evolved to help us survive. When other people make an affront against us, a little anger shows them we mean business.

They may think twice about messing with us in the future if they see we’re prepared to fight back.

In healthy people, the amount of anger you experience is proportional to whatever triggered it in the first place. If someone cuts you off, you might get a little frustrated. If a conman scams you out of a lot of money, you’ll likely be very angry.

In people with NPD, it’s almost like this anger circuitry is wired differently.

Narcissists have a huge, unrealistic sense of their own self-worth. They believe that they are special and superior to other people. However, that belief is a very fragile lie.

The truth is, narcissists actually have very low self-esteem. Deep down, they hold grave fears that they are not as special as they like to think they are.

Confronting your own self-worth can be a painful thing to do, especially for people who are deeply insecure – and even more so for people whose positive self-image is built on a fragile foundation.

So when narcissists receive even a very slight criticism, or even if they simply don’t get the amount of adoration they need, they react as if their entire self-image and value as a human beings have been threatened.

We call this a narcissistic injury .

This triggers not just frustration, not just anger, but something more – a narcissistic rage. Unfortunately, narcissistic rage can be triggered very easily.

Not making excuses for Safe Sport, but they have been underfunded for the huge number of cases that have come to them over the last few years. Budget now around $20 mm; money comes from Congress, and sports organizations and donations. They are a non profit organization They have 90+ employees, and some contractor help. Approx 1/3 of budget goes to “response and resolution”. They had 3,500+ reports in 2021 and have received over 10,000 reports in their 5 years. They have been playing catch up since Day 1.

IMO they had no idea how much they were opening a floodgate. And it seems that their primary focus was designed to be educational in nature.

Yes. I also think she would not have come back to NJ from Florida if he had not agreed to include the Wiatter thing the deal, or at set higher rates at that time.

I think he believed her FB posts that she was a “woman of unlimited means” and thought he could exploit her for her money.

No one is out to “get him.” This is a “polite discussion of the trial” smoke screen for the relentless trashing of LK and her family.
