There are two people who made bad decisions. He made several of them but was under tremendous stress from major life changes and instability. She made several poor decisions. She did not shoot anyone. He did. Big difference.

May they both find healing.

1st of all, more than two people made bad decisions in this situation. You’ve left out daddy and boyfriend. They are as guilty of poor decisions as LK.

May they both find healing…oh yes. Look who is and has searched for healing care. Of course you will fire back with he is under forced psych evaluation, but the fact remains he has sought mental health care most of his adult life. Anyone in their right mind can assume LK is in dire need of mental and substance abuse help. All indications are she is receiving neither. What a shame.

It sure looks like y’all are really good at flagging considering the banned posters.

Once more for the people struggling to understand: people aren’t banned just because their posts get flagged. People get banned because their posts break forum rules - repeatedly over a long period of time. Flagging brings those posts to the mod’s attention, that is all. The mods have to deal with tons of posts getting flagged which don’t actually break any rules and don’t require any action.

That’s precisely what LK was complaining about in her rant, that her flagged posts were being “ignored.” In fact what she claimed was an “incitement to violence” was simply multiple people commenting that when you play with fire, you’re gonna get burned eventually. None of the posts she quoted were threatening her or encouraging people to commit a violent act towards her. And that’s why the mods ignored them.

Bias? No, the post was fact. Sometimes truth can hurt. You seem to have a particular bias that LK is loved and welcomed throughout the equestrian world. You and several others defend her every move, or conveniently ignore the really ugly things, and attempt to turn everyone else into the enemy gathered to be mean. At least attempt to be objective.

This constant mention of RI is tiresome. Most don’t know the truth of what happened on August 7 and many believe LK/RG were the attackers. We won’t know because 1) the video proof RG told the police was available disappeared, 2) the small town PD did a ridiculously poor job of gathering forensic evidence, and 3) Barisone had such extensive injuries to his head/brain that resulted in memory loss and PTSD. Since Taylor hogtied the defense in several areas the jury did the right thing with their verdict. You can hope and use your influence with the court/AK to attempt to keep Barisone held for many years. I hope influence is ignored and the right decisions are made so all involved can actually move on with their lives with many lessons learned.

One thought for the Kanarek folks, the faster MB is released to outpatient care the faster the civil trials can proceed. Isn’t winning the civil trials the next goal for them?

This is standard practice for you folks. It’s always someone else’s fault when negative things happen. It’s never the fault of the individual involved. What you are implying is the CoTH moderators are influenced to ban users for reasons other than the users behavior and personal actions. Amazing.

A general remark about life that is pertinent to this specific case.

When decent people discover that they are involved with not decent people, decent people cut ties with the not decent people.

This does not a “mean” comment make. Just a statement of truth.

Excellent comment. And it applies to so many “relationships” between many, many people who have been involved with circumstances surrounding this case - including encounters and situations that have occurred both before and after the Aug. 2019 incident.

For example, MB could’ve recognized the situation as being bad and realized he got too involved with some bad people. He then became delusional when all of the pressure(s) built up around him and some memories and experiences from his past were triggered, and things essentially became amplified, confusing, and frightening in his head. He was then, at that point out of touch with reality and/or unable to think rationally.

Add sleep deprivation due to extreme anxiety about the safety of the horses in your care.

I don’t think anyone has any idea what she’s doing other than posting on YouTube chats and reliving the trial. That said, I don’t know anyone who is actively trying to figure out what she’s doing either.

Except when you are telling us all the latest you heard from your so called sources. @eggbutt has said that she heard LK is not longer riding and the substitute trainer while the main trainer was out of country recently quit.

Just picking a place to jump in….

Many years ago, I saw a green pony spook and spin with a kid who got her foot stuck in the stirrup. The pony kept spinning as the kid did an aerial helicopter move around the pony at the end of the stirrup. It was very scary, although we grabbed the pony’s head and rescued the kid pretty quickly.

The kid also started screaming at some point, which probably did not make the pony spin any less.

This thread is giving me a similar spinning vibe. Lol.

Ah, could be. I just remember thinking how odd it was when LK suddenly popped up on the SS thread in H/J to interject a rant about “fraud at the highest levels of USEF” and how it should/would be of interest to SS. I am not going to go back and try to find those posts, but IIRC, she was referring to a connection between major USEF sponsors and high-level officials and their “cover-up” of nefarious activities that SS should be investigating.

I was puzzled at the time I saw those posts and thought she was referring to the Bob McDonald case since that had been recent news. But at some point I came to realize that she was insinuating that the Kundrums (sp?) had “bought” Ali Brock’s position at USEF by offering a major sponsorship of some type of USEF program or award.

And then I was puzzled as to why she was suddenly on a tear about “USEF fraud” vis-a-vis SafeSport. I also think - but am not sure - that is about the same time she was going on and on about having a “global top-ten law firm on speed dial.” Then Brock showed up as a witness for the defense at the trial, and it seemed to all fall into place in my mind - LK’s rant on the SS thread was all about laying the groundwork to try to discredit Brock as a defense witness. And I still wonder if her “rant trigger” got flipped at that time because she had just learned Brock was going to be a witness.

Ali seemed heartbroken over MB’s breakdown and the entire situation. I posted and just did again that I would not be surprised if she helped LK relocate her horses to Ulf’s barn in Florida. Ali seems to be a professional who believes in the good of the sport and would hate all the bad press and tawdry bickering.

This clearly did not happen, considering the public record. If it did happen, then LK clearly stabbed her in the back by attempting to record her for evidence at this new barn and publicly accusing her and her trainer of fraud.

Since you insist on repeating these obviously false allegations, it seems like you are fishing for someone to come and correct you in a very specific way so that you can think you are identifying their screen name.

It’s way older than the witness list, and it’s been featured several times over the last 2-3 years. I don’t think the vague version wasn’t very long after the shooting….6 months or so…

My question on the technical forum was asking whether a poster with a flagged post was notified as to who flagged it. No one answered my question, so I’m back to assuming that the identity of the flagger is not conveyed to the poster, although obviously the mods would have that information.

This is another tactic that confuses me. Why post a question on a forum that you want the moderators to answer? Why not simply PM the mods and ask the question? You aren’t the only one I’ve seen do this and usually there isn’t a response from the moderators.

Because I assumed it could be answered by users and that it wasn’t necessary to bother the mods.
