Barisone Jury Deliberation

@FitzE

It’s almost 2:00 pm. Still
 no verdict.

Anyone care to predict if we will get a verdict this afternoon? Or
do you think it will go until Friday?

I think it will go until Friday.

Another great dressage horse name!

won’t be back til Wednesday if no verdict today

Friday is a court holiday, and then the judge is busy so the next court day for deliberations would be Wednesday I believe.

I do not see that I said she committed perjury. So why are you asking?
I said Bob lies.
Which is a fact.
The word perjury does not appear there at all.

Now, the story in my head might be saying something different than what I asked/said here. But, I for sure did not use the word perjury here and you are not inside my head so

Bingo

SERIOUSLY?!?

That’s crazy. They can take off until next Wednesday?!?!

If they don’t decide today they will not reconvene until next week (per someone in the courtroom).

If they keep going past 4 p.m., a verdict today.
If they break at 4, either return for a verdict Wednesday.
Or, at 4, there’s going to be an indication the jurors are deadlocking on the insanity issue.

Oh I understand - I mostly do civil litigation but I have had to draft jury verdict forms before for criminal trials and I don’t envy the complication of this one.

What surprised me was the lesser included of aggravated assault for RG as well because he wasn’t shot. Was he actually assaulted by MB at all? I thought he was the one doing the attacking post-shooting. But I admittedly don’t know the facts of this case as well as I get the law.

ETA: Read the statute for aggravated assault and makes more sense now as it covers the attempt to cause bodily harm as well in NJ.

So given this timeline
do we expect the judge will keep them late tonight?

Agree, I think it would be especially trying for the jurors who weren’t allowed to take notes and have to try to remember everything that’s gone on

I said that numerous posters on the thread have asserted that she has committed perjury, not you necessarily.

BTW, nice of you to ask instead of just telling the whole world that is what I said when that is not what I said, like you did earlier when you claimed I said something about wanting Bob dead.

Oh, but you asked me, so you did kind of imply I said that, no?

In the planning hearings Taylor was concerned about Easter and Spring Break. Who knows what he might ask them to do. I believe the state thought it would be a quick verdict.

Got it. This makes more sense to me. Thanks.

As I have read the NJ statute, aggravated assault can b e found even if the defendant doesn’t fire the gun, just points it. The step down to assault here is related to the defendant’s diminished capacity rather than the results of his actions.

Didn’t RG say under oath that he did “just enough” work to cover board for the extra horse(s)? That he did not want to get “ahead” of any bills? If those statements are true why would he be owed any money?
