Why do you make this a personal attack on me?
I have different opinions and values. If I had to evacuate for a fire or a hurricane or flood, to protect human life, I would do that even if I had to leave animals. Are people in Ukraine “sick” because they flee from war and leave behind animals?
I don’t have personal feelings about anyone in this case or anyone on this site. It’s just intellectually intriguing.

As someone who had trained with MB, I found her insights very valuable to understanding the case, and was sorry that she was chased off.

I’m pretty new to the Barisone threads. Not to the forums… just to these threads.
I think the rancor goes both ways.
Some people feel really passionately that LK is a monster who never faces consequences.
Other people feel that some folks are minimizing MBs actions, and if he WASN’T insane, and he DID shoot her intentionally? It was a crime and he should be held accountable.
That’s just what I am seeing. I’m finding myself agreeing with some posters on these threads who I often have tension with on other threads, and having tension with some posters that I normally see eye to eye with. 
Why can’t we all just get along…

Well goodness gracious! She actually reappeared shortly before the trial and posted several times and disappeared again.
By the way @CurrentlyHorseless I’m not the one who sent all sorts of private messages to users threatening to sue them, take their property, cost them their jobs, etc. Several of those posters actually left and haven’t been back. I didn’t cause them to do that! How quickly you forget.

I read about an actual prison that had a program in which prisoners were given mustangs to domesticate and train. Not dressage, of course.
The mustangs might have been slaughtered otherwise, and the program seemed quite effective in improving the outlook of the inmates.

I am Canadian and do not even own a gun but In my opinion the charges should never even been pressed.
It is a travesty that the Morristown police department violated MB’s human rights. Their discrimination against him because of mental illness is actually disgusting.
Clearly shows the US still has a long way to go baby!
(In no way am I implying Canada’s policing is better but we do not have the gun crime of the US because of our gun laws).
Canada has laws to protect disabled people from being tortured by others. Unseen disabilities are still disabilities in Canada.

You have made good points about now seeing “weaponization” of SafeSport. I would say ignoring both complaints was a good thing since it was not in their central missipn, i.e. abuse of minors by adults in power.
I worry about people replicating the idea that really bad behavior justifies physical violence. Someone could decide one of these young women reporting abuse are “con spiring to ruin” an older male trainer’s life and decide it’s OK to attack them. Before you scoff, remember the guy who shot up the DC pizza spot because he believed it was Hilary Clinton’s human trafficking spot.

If he told them to leave at gun point and they did not leave but instead attempted to jump him and wrestle the gun away, then, in my inexpert opinion that considerably weakens the case for attempted murder. Since Lauren has already backed him down before, I think it’s quite possible.
