I’m not convinced the ninja through the woods happened.

There were two eye witnesses, Justin and Mike and it was the hay fields not the woods. Are there even any woods on that farm?

IIRC, Mike is the one that told the story on the stand and it was after Justin was done with his testimony.

It wasn’t on a police report, JH didn’t testify to it, just Mike did. I’m doubtful. Maybe.

Why assume horses would be cared for when people are making horrible decisions?

Why assume they wouldn’t be cared for at the barn of a well-known and respected Olympic rider/trainer, with no allegations of horse abuse/neglect in his history?

Why assume the only course of action was to STAY ON THE SAME PREMISES where the “feared” abuse/neglect might take place, and esp. when it was clear that everyone else wanted you to LEAVE?

Why assume anyone would buy the BS that it was too difficult to move 4-5 horses on short notice?

Nope, she stayed because she was on a mission to destroy MB and get rid of MHG because by God, she was NOT going to be rejected.

So how do you know that? Do you know her personally? Did she tell you that?

She didn’t believe in her heart of hearts that she would actually be shot. How was she supposed to know he was delusional and insane if MHG and RC had not noticed?

Then the plot was non existent and she’s made it all up for attention and to justify her actions.

I guess you didn’t watch as the camera zoomed in on Taylor who refused to look at Bilinkas or Barisone and never said a word to either other than reading the next steps. His face was flushed.

Did the guy actually work at the barn? Was he making $140,000 there? That sounds like a heck of a lot for barn work.

I don’t think he - John G was the chat name he used - was working at that particular barn, but he did say stuff that implied he may have been part of the social structure there or at least was in the social circles tied to the barn she was at. He kept repeating over and over that LK got him and his horse blacklisted and that he was fired from a $140K job because he wouldn’t give her a phone number (for someone important and prestigious, perhaps?), and she somehow got him fired over it, though he didn’t go into further detail about it beyond that, at least not on the day that I happened to see what was being posted. He might have said more at another time, as this was early in the trial. His posting on the day that I saw was somewhat incoherent and repetitive in regards to the supposed job loss and then he would talk about LK and RG, posting things that lined up with what others had said and made sense with what was already put out there about their behavior, from previous barns in NC.

I wondered if he thought blaming his situation on her would get someone to help him out.

And based on Seeker1 saying Taylor had told her MB was guilty after hearing the recordings is deeply troubling to me. Why was a judge involved with any discovery pretrial and why did he form an opinion and share it with Kirby Kanarek? Is he a family friend? Regardless, her comment sure reeks of bias. He should not be involved in the evaluation phase of MB’s AK report.

This is a good point. Is there some way to bring this problem up to the court system? It is kind of scary if this happened.

If it did indeed happen, I would think Bilinkas would be all over it. For all we know, the NJ Judicial Review Commission (or whatever it is called) may already be looking at the evidence.

Since Kirby’s revelation that Judge Taylor made inappropriate comments to her regarding Barisone’s guilt or innocence, I’ve pondered the Kanarek involvement with ALL the officials in this case, from the police department to the building inspector breaking protocol and allowing LK to stay in the house but not advise MB, to possibly a biased judge. I’m certainly not paranoid but I do understand conspiracy in small towns influenced by a wealthy influencer. Coincidence? Uh-huh.

Don’t forget the police calling the DA and the DA saying that Lauren is allowed to go anywhere she wants on the property at any time, MB was not allowed to restrict her access.

That goes into tenant rights.

No it doesn’t. A right to domicile is for the house and where she lives in the house but not the barn. The barn is a service provider not a domicile.

In regards to the timelines and LK’s ability to move herself and the horses, Mr Tarshis testified that he first started negotiating with JK at least a week, possibly two, before he sent the eviction notice. On the Friday before the shooting, he thought they had an understanding she was leaving. On August 5th, when she hadn’t left, he had her served with the eviction notice to be out on August 7th. And that’s when (Aug 5th) JK hired ED to represent LK in the eviction action.

Just want to point out……if you are a parent negotiating a move for your adult kid, don’t you say something to them about it before you are done? Don’t you ask for their input? Only parents of children make such significant arrangements for their life without discussing the results with them before hand.

It is not logical to think that LK wasn’t aware of these negotiations her father was making on her behalf, which makes the whole thing more odd.

ED testified that he was calling LK to present a plan that seemed to work with Tarshis and JK when she was shot. I was not aware of any testimony that she knew of any alternative presented and refused to go. I don’t know where people are coming up with that.

Yet another victim of poor reading comprehension in the name of preventing LK from blame.

No one is making anything up, just pointing out how completely illogical it is to believe that JK negotiated a move for up to two weeks for his supposedly independent adult daughter without ever once consulting her and the only time she ever heard of of the plan was via a lawyer after all the negotiations were complete? Not one person, especially her own father, gave her the dignity of informing her the impending arrangement or sought her input on the move before she received a letter demanding she move?

It’s quite frankly, unbelievable that her father did not approach her about the suitability of the place they were arranging before continuing forward in negotiating a move…unless it was never in good faith to begin with. Then I can see a valid reason for her father to having not included/informed LK of the arrangements.

You have no information as to the new story line that popped up that LK turned down a barn already but you now say I am only saying that to absolve LK.

To my knowledge, you don’t know me so you can’t speak to my motives.

Just to be clear, I am not absolving LK of bad judgment and poor behavior.

What I have done is point out that MB had a lot more going on in his life to stress him out and cause him to have a mental breakdown and be in a delusion than one problematic boarder. I’m happy to repeat all that if you have forgotten.

Is Safesport going to be able to lift this ban wondering if something ELSE sets Michael Barisone off in the future?

As I said before - I would think it would be a violation of MB’s civil rights if SS/USEF don’t drop the suspension once he has been fully released. Even convicted murderers get released from prison once they have done their time, despite the possibility that they may engage in more criminal acts (including additional murders) in the future.

SafeSport is not part of the justice system. It works for a private club(s) to keep athletes competing in Olympic sports safe. Civil rights are not involved.

I’m not caught up yet, but someone early on in the trial threads said Chris Christie appointed Judge T.

Also it was said that Judge T worked under Mr. B in the prosecutor’s office. Christie was Governor until 2018, but who knows how long ago this was.

So if Bilinkas mentored him when he worked for him and then walked all over procedures and rulings, I’m surprised Taylor didn’t really go after him. Branca kept saying Taylor was letting Bilinkas her away with too much.

From my past experience, the trainer would pay the farrier bill and then I would see the charges on my bill for the next month.

Perhaps and only speculation on my part, perhaps MB knew the eviction notice was coming or came, and he didn’t want to eat anymore costs associated with LK and her horses. Maybe he was going to cut bait and go fish with regards to getting paid from LK???

Again, before any one jumps on me, that is purely speculation on my part.
