I wouldn’t say “no basis” but reasonable doubt? Absolutely.
Nope. His fault was being trusting enough to be sucked in by these people. They had no business interfering with his business, his life or his property. They were customers ONLY, not friend or family, yet they devised a plan to destroy a man revered in his field by playing on his childhood mental abuse issues that he apparently made the mistake of sharing. For what?? And yet, somehow YOU still defend their actions as though he owed them anything.
Why do you people continue posting here? Sure, it’s a public forum but clearly you are in the extreme minority in your loyalty to this woman and her family.
Well, that depends on what you charge for tutoring. LOL
@haleybot this should be LK and RG’s direct and cross.
Lol, I keep reading this as “the only thing that could conceivably be of gerbil public interest.”
OMG so did I but I didn’t want to say anything LOL
Wow… just scrolled back through anything I missed and noticed the thumbnails on the videos from the LK and RG directs and crosses. MB looks distraught and LK and RG somehow look like they’re enjoying this in 3/4 thumbnails of the 2 of them. I don’t think I’d be smiling or laughing if I were testifying in this one.
I think the defense attorney could probably make anyone look like a liar for calling the sky blue. Which potentially makes LK/JG testimony appear more reasonable. it is really ridiculous that anyone is going to have a reliable memory of those events. MB has no memory but everyone else is not allowed to not remember perfectly. The whole premise just seems contradictory on the face.
Agree 100%.
They (JH, MHC, RC) are “for” defense, no? So I should rephrase that anyone the defense attorney does not like what they say, he could make them a liar. DA is good at his job. But I don’t know if that makes me believe any of the dust he kicks up.
Agree 100%.
Sticky_Situation:And yet, LK chose to still come back to the farm in NJ even knowing there was conflict.
It seems pretty clear that LK is not too worried about conflict, based on the history we’ve heard.
You know, if MB is close to 60, that means he has probably been in the horse business for about 40 years, give or take. And during that time, I’m sure he’s had a few bad experiences with customers for whatever reason. But apparently he was always able to work it out in the past.
So I can imagine him thinking the same thing would happen again, and probably never in a million years dreaming of all the twists and turns it would take as the situation kept getting worse and worse and worse.
He credited VK for taking care of all the details so he could ride and train. Suddenly it was all on him.
I have had an owner do that to me also. For some it is more of a lifestyle, and the activities are optional. Kind of like a resort….

A friend of mine used to work for somebody who did the same thing. It was definitely more about the lifestyle.
Scribbler:My impression is that her posts have a chemical element to them. She may be under pressure to not indulge during the trial. I would expect a return after the verdict, either gloating and celebrating, or sht talking about the appeal and the civil lawsuit, depending.
Yup. It’s only a matter of time until it starts back up.
But by then interest in MB and the trial will be over.
Of course I will be glad to start a new thread when 48 Hours is announced!
Sticky_Situation:So ED heard 2 shots. LK had injuries consistent with being shot twice. 2 casings were found at the scene.
So why are LK and RG insisting there was a third shot aimed at him, that there is no evidence of when the other 2 are easily accounted for?
What about the bullet that entered the house through the door and exited out the other window? The 14-degree upward angle is consistent with somebody firing up towards the porch from ground level. The state’s argument is that this is the third round, fired at RG after the two that hit LK. To me the evidence of that round’s trajectory is pretty consistent with RG/LK’s (very muddled) story that MB shot LK first after stepping out from behind the bush, started to follow LK as she ran off towards the side yard, then turned and fired one shot at RG as he was on the porch (or maybe just coming out the door).
I caught part of ED’s testimony and it sounds like the call ended pretty quickly after the first two shots, possibly before that third one was fired, so he might not have heard it.
Agree 100%
Referring to EDs testimony, LK did not run around anywhere, wasn’t up and down the steps looking for a phone…
in the call with ED She declared she’d been shot, was losing consciousness, then dropped the phoneNo sounds of her beating MB after the two shots.
The injuries to MB couldn’t have happened after she was shot according to that testimony.
Agree. His testimony is closer to RG’s. I suspect LK had PTSD/pain med nightmares recreating the scene in her head to match her emotions.
PTSD is not an excuse for behaving badly.
maybe she suffered a TBI in said car wreck as well…
Davidson - Truck diver, hauling trees. Knows MB - smiling, known MB for 20yrs at the farm, worked for him, brought in hay.
August 2019 - Hired by MB for another purpose - Asked to watch the barn. He was having problems with a girl at the house. He would be at barn from about 8pm to 6am.
Tried to talk to MB and have coffee in the AM but he was so messed up he could hardly talk.
First time he came there, the girl (LK) came running out of the house yelling “who are you” repeatedly. He was at barn with MB for 10mins and two cars came up. One car went around barn and one came to him. Unmarked police cars.
Had discussion with police. They asked how everything was, he said pretty quiet right now. They didn’t ask him why he was there or who hired him. (This was on Aug 1st).
He was there each night until the ‘incident’. His job was just to park by the barn and make sure nobody goes in.
He saw MB every night - MB was constantly walking the property all night. MBs physical appearance - he was terrible. He was beside himself. Never seen him in 20yrs in this condition.
He specifically looked distraught. Could hardly talk. He was out of it.
MB would be in and out every night 3-4 times to walk the property.
Agree. Add under cross he stated he never saw anyone walking around at night except MB. Never saw woman again.
well, they are finishing the bastard…
The attorney’s call records I believe were submitted as evidence to support the lawyer’s testimony. The Jurors will be able to review it.
Actual evidence will clear up a lot of the confusion or questions that the defense keeps throwing out to try to muddle things or the seemingly contrary answers by witnesses.
Agree. Cross showed the call records supported testimony.
