Well It looks like she did NOT CALL CPS. And may not have really intuited that SS would call CPS. So LK was perhaps caught off guard by that event/twist.
I am assuming he would need to
A) Admit she isn’t perfect
B) take some efford
This way he can foist her off on unsuspecting 3rd parties…
