To me, the main use of a written contract is not that you can pull it out and use it in court, but that it forces both parties to be clear on what each expects and is promising

Kind of my point. If the contract is no longer in your favor (hypothetically) and you announce you have access to an office and contracts you’ve got a golden opportunity to make it disappear. Especially when the other party is sinking to a level of desperation that includes not bathing. And when that one person on the other side that can definitively say he had a contract that went missing a) isn’t saying anything and b) has demonstrated that by Aug 7th he was in full mental breakdown, we can’t possibly know one way or the other.

LKs position was that MB owed her money and that was one reason she hadn’t moved.

And now, thanks to the criminal trial, we have RG on the record as saying he never worked so much that he “Got ahead of what she owed at that moment”. So there goes her claim of money owed to RG. And unless she had been hired to clean stalls (gasp) or vacuum to help work off training? Her claims regarding the civil case don’t stand.

Did not say that. He said he didn’t work more because he didn’t want to get too far ahead of the $2,500 a month owed for the third horse, and because MB didn’t always have the materials bought. He said that at the time of the shooting he thought he was, in fact ahead.

Too bad there wasn’t a written agreement on the scope of work, and the payment schedule. It was all a sloppy, loosey goosey arrangement.

All of RG’s personal and business dealings seem to be constructed on a loosey goosey basis. What is his current job again? Is there a written agreement as to his exact duties and the hours involved? What is the pay schedule? Does he get an allowance from LK or JK?

The lie that MB “owed” them $50,000 was exposed for the complete manipulative BS it was… but you are still going to bend over backwards to make excuses and toss out random squirrels…

Good grief. Re bolded. I have never said that LK was a “sweet innocent lamb” or that she played “no role” in the tragedy.

Maybe the fact that she often blew off lessons or showed up very late had something to do with the disruption of the training relationship? A trainer at MB’s level isn’t going to fudge around with a client that isn’t serious about their riding, regardless of what level they are riding at. Those clients get the assistant trainer. Which is what happened to LK. Rather than pull her panties up and commit to her riding, she decided to get angry and try to ruin MB.

MB’s lawyer has stated that MB is a different man now that the trial is over.
That’s a good thing as if he behaves like he did during the trial it will be a long time before he will ever be released. My theory is MB went down there to prove he was a man to MH, as he was losing her, also in his mind to show he was protecting her and her children.
Reading some of the comments on other SM on this case are enlightening. Many of the same people here show up really letting the nastiness go, not having the restrictions of here, repeating theories and opinions as fact, and demonstrate clearly they all know each other and are in cahoots to be sure LK will never be welcomed or allowed to show again, even if it means spreading lies, or blackballing or harassing a trainer or farrier that works with her(yes, that was said) . GJ seems to be enjoying the attention and her comments are insane. Some random guy says LK lost him a high paying job and it repeated here as if it is fact. Someone goes off on LK’s mother, telling people that she has the nerve to post on COTH(her actually nice post) after the trial. It’s all looney.
There are a lot of hateful people on social media that seem to enjoy the nastiness(and I believe LK was/is one of them). As long as they are hostile towards LK and family that’s ok, got it.
I was however pleased to see that when someone here said LK should

However when another poster a while back used a horrific term for sexual abuse of children not a peep, as they were expressing the “majority “ opinion. If it was a minority opinion there would have been pearl clutching and reporting. I am not sure why you (collectively) cannot accept that there are people that do not agree with every position or theory you (collectively) put out there and can still not approve with LK’s actions. Or believe some of you are a bit dramatic and over the top with the harassment. MB got the best verdict he could hope for as did LK considering evidence and testimony. There are no winners.
