I’ve spoken up on the issue of SafeSport on these forums quite a bit. And really made some people mad in the process. I’ve always approached it from my perspective as a mother… not as a professional. Because I’m not a professional. I’m just a mom who grew up riding, who has a kid who rides. And I want the sport to be wonderful and happy for other moms and kids. Having a multigenerational experience with horses is a special thing. And it’s a very prevalent thing in equestrian sport. Kinda unique to our sport. Really special, in my opinion.

So I see this SafeSport issue in this case through that lens. I have to admit…, I sincerely doubted that anyone would try and weaponize SafeSport to harm another athlete. I assumed that if they did… the professional investigators at SafeSport would spot the BS, and not go down that road.

This case? This case showed me I was wrong. This case showed me that there are seriously cruel and twisted people out there who will leverage something like SafeSport code, and use it to inflict pain on another woman, via the maternal bond.

Sick sick sick. Bad for the mothers involved… and bad for any children caught up in a false complaint situation like this. SafeSport can not turn a blind eye to this.

I don’t buy into the idea that the Kanawrecks are about to gleefully sip some DOM over this verdict. I call BS and it’s a pathetic attempt to protect their precious little egos.

One of the lawyers associated with the Kanawrecks was so vexed regarding the verdict he made the mistake of calling the jury for this case “temporarily insane” regarding their unanimous acquittal by insanity. This doesn’t quite align with the idea that the jurors are the most important component to a trial - seems like a fit thrown by a toddler at best.

The post in the other locked thread by IM is incredibly telling - IM seems awfully pissed to be so happy about the outcome. Whatever IM needs to tell themselves to get through the day, I suppose.

The Kanawrecks NEEDED a guilty sentence (which LK was so sure of as the outcome based on her SM, bless her heart) so that she could sue in civil court - what she DID NOT NEED was NGRI which only PROVES in a court of law that LK drove MB to insanity. That does not work well for LK’s “master plan.” Quite the opposite as it only strengthens MB’s potential for a civil suit against LK.

The Kanawreck’s pathetic attempts to sway public opinion directly after the acquittal does not bode for a confident, happy family - it demonstrates that LK has likely destroyed her mother through this and has royally tainted any legacy JK might have.

If LK took any comfort in the verdict, she wouldn’t be online trying to smear MB’s name further, and she will certainly be surprised when MB is released from the psychiatric facility in way less time than she expects.

LK was out maneuvered, out smarted, raked over the coals of the public eye and has now permanently damaged her name and reputation. Poor LK can’t delete the now permanent mark she has made online. She is now the Carol Baskins of the horse world - unanimously loathed.

And then to top it all off in a beautiful fashion, MHG posts on SM her success at CDI GP today on an extremely talented horse that she and RC own and that MHG and MB trained together over the years to bring towards this achievement. I’m incredibly happy for her. Icing on the cake.

Given his obvious emotional involvement with this trial, I suspect Mr Blinkas wouldn’t mind collecting and distributing cards of support if you think the Ann Klein Center won’t do so.

Let’s talk about Barisone, find a way to send him get well cards, support JH and MHG, support dressage in general but let us in all ways pretend that the Kanareks and their sock puppets don’t exist.

That is what we’ve done as a public in general when it comes to the shooter in mass shooting incidents. Do not give them any notoriety.

As an aside for anyone who thought that MHG had completely moved on from MB on all levels - she made a lovely post yesterday on FB with a follow up comment that appears she holds no ill will toward MB at all. She rode her first CDI Grand Prix (oh the symmetry) on Don Divone yesterday, the same day that MB was found NGI. I don’t know if it is public - I am FB friends with her.

I didnt even know there was LK threads just this one. BTW, do you know if there is a copy online anywhere of the posts LK wrote. I heard there were thousands! I haven’t seen any of them and was curious. I just heard what was read in court but heard it was much worse in reality.

I don’t know where you would find her old posts. I believe someone on a previous thread said LK had either locked or scrubbed her Facebook account and her other social media accounts.

If you do a search here on the BB for old threads that mention the name Barisone, you will come across a lot of material, even though LK had a very well-known tendency to go back later to edit or delete her previous posts. She posted here under the name Lala Pop Rider until she was banned recently.

It looks like she’s already busy creating a new paper trail with comments in her own name on YouTube videos from the trial.

I have to say I found it kind of fascinating to see how many people in the comments on YouTube and elsewhere were almost universally thrilled about the verdict and happy for MB, including the people who did not know any of the parties involved, and did not even know anything about horses.

It just makes me wonder how many people out there have crossed paths with someone similar to LK, and could totally sympathize with MB and his situation.

Maybe it was a widespread “there but for the grace of God” reaction.

It has occurred to me that they are desperately telling Daughter Dearest that the verdict was a WIN for their side so she won’t go over the edge any further. How sad it must be to be so in terror of your own child that you would do anything, say anything to let her continue to live in her fantasy world lest she turn her rage on those closest to her. Like, “Now, now dear - we aren’t the droids you are looking for. But those folks over there…”.

But should have put the cuffs on Lauren where they belong. Still, the KEYWORDS here are NOT GUILTY…whether it be due to insanity or not. I hope your daughter Lauren, and your husband have learned a valuable lesson here, that EVIL does NOT prevail! God does NOT like UGLY, hun…your daughter did not “destroy the bastard”, he destroyed HER!..big time boomerang.

For someone who’s husband is a lawyer, though apparently not a trial lawyer, KK certainly seems to get her information from tv dramas. A defendant that is found not guilty still needs to be processed out of the system. They don’t just get up and walk out of the courtroom to the street. Each court/city/county/state has their procedures, and some will include the defendant remaining in restraints until processed out.
