What I remember is that RG said that in doing work, he didnāt want to get āto far aheadā in the balance owed, given that the board being offset was only $2,500 a month.
Iām not saying RG could get money out of SGF if it goes to trial.
Iāve been saying all along that Iām predicting SGF will attempt to settle rather than litigate. If youāre an attorney trying to get the plaintiff to accept a given settlement, donāt you try to ingratiate yourself with the plaintiff that youāre negotiating with? Say youāre so sorry they were injured on your property and youāre delighted that theyāre competing again? Even though itās not in the lawsuit, say you wanted to make sure SGF had paid renovation bills that MB refused to pay?
Iām just saying that if I were a lawyer for SGF, Iād tidy up any disputed renovation bills in the hopes that that made it easier to settle the injury claim. If the renovation amount was on the order of $10,000, that peanuts compared to their exposure on the gunshot injury.
But apparently CH believes obvious extortion is sometimes somehow justifiable, and a second extorted party should just go ahead and pay, if the people extorting others have upped the ante and started a lawsuit involving multiple parties.
Just pay the protection money, and all the pain will stop. Isnāt that how it works?
I canāt really follow any of that logic, and trying to justify this stuff. But I guess RG was really upset when MB called he and LK squatters and scumbags, and thusā¦ somehow extortion is a reasonable response?
I kinda think the obvious extortion attempt, and the whole refusing to leave the property thing, andā¦ oh yeahā¦ the using drugs thingā¦ wellā¦ I think that all MIGHT just be proof that MB was kinda sorta justified in calling them squatters and scumbags.
regarding the civil suits believe I am not following this but seem to remember there was a hang up when there was a discovery request for all of LKās internet postsā¦ then (2019? 2020?) it was estimated at well over 30,000 pages
Really? You think someone who was shot and nearly died isnāt justified in filing a suit for damages?
The civil suit was filed long before the criminal verdict, and I interpreted it partly as a backup for a moral victory in case Barisone was outright acquitted, like OJ.
Just want to put it out there that while I guess I was dragged into the melee by my being tagged by someone else, I have never felt threatened by you. In fact, I have liked a few of your posts here.
I also want to say that while I do think these Barisone threads can get quite nasty, and I have felt attacked here on occasion (to the point that even barnmates have said I have been treated unkindly when I didnāt even know they were following the forums and to the point that I stepped away), I can only recall one particular poster who made me feel that way on a regular basis (and they and I have worked it out privately). I am sure others were less than kind, but I scrolled on by. If you were one of them, I didnāt even notice. So please donāt take my being tagged as anything at all. I was a bit mortified, if I am honestā¦ I fight my own battles.
Do they put all their interviews with experts up on their website? Or a replay of their random talking? Iāll keep an eye out and if they play it again Iāll try to record it or something.
I didnāt say that filing the suit was unjustified.
But look at the counterclaims from MB. Then refer to all of LKs social media, and much of what was revealed during trial.
Both sides have claims. Big claims. If the civil case continues (I suspect it willā¦ the Kanareks are nothing if not litigious)ā¦
It will become partly about who has the deepest pockets, and keeps going, vs. who cries uncle first.
And the OJ comparisons are ABSURD. LK and RG are not analagous to Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. Who are both tragically dead. They died horrific very violent deaths. Someone erroneously referred to the whole thing as a shooting earlier on these forums. It wasnāt. They were butcheredā¦ I think Goldman might have been almost decapitated in the violent attack.
The civil case involved a wrongful death complaint. Nicole Brown Simpsonās sister and Ron Goldmanās father were the plaintiffs. Or maybe just Ron Goldmanās father. I canāt remember. Regardlessā¦ they were INCREDIBLY compelling plaintiffs. Their grief was palpable.
Tell meā¦ how compelling do you think it will be in LKs civil case when a jury hears about how LK cyber stalked and mentally tortured a grieving mother by falsely alleging (in a public post on social media) that motherās childās accidental drowning death was a result of the mother being preoccupied with graphic sexual acts?
Iām pretty sure that the jury is NOT going to find LK a particularly sympathetic or compelling plaintiff after hearing about that. Andā¦ in a civil matterā¦ that and much more will become part of the evidence the jury sees.
