You might be right if everyone who is making disgusting assumptions and accusations about LK and her family were posting their own actual interactions with her, but they aren’t; they are just guessing at what might have happened based on what they want to be true, and LK doesn’t even have the ability to defend herself here because she’s been banned. I don’t think the “assumptions” are “disgusting” - they were literally her actions testified to in court. LK was banned because of her abhorrent behavior.

I think what you may be feeling as LK bashing is really people finally feeling safe enough to come out of the woodwork and expose even more of her nastiness and then the reactions to those posts.

Hmmm. Actually here on COTH we’ve had ample actual interactions with Laura Kanarek. She has been a frequent poster on these threads, as well as trying to engage a number of members in DM.

Her posts, it’s fair to say, have been variously contradictory, counterfactual, muddled, threatening, self aggrandizing, and argumentative. Over the past 2 years she has repeatedly jumped in to revive dormant threads when the rest of us forgot about the topic. We’ve all had a very good look at LK first hand in her own words, and the revelations in the trial simply confirmed what we had already surmised about her, including her testimony that she lies on SM and can’t remember her lies from one instance to the next.

LK is her own worst enemy.

BTW she was only banned after her trial testimony when she admitted under oath that she lies and threatens people on SM. Up to that point she was a frequent poster here.

Soooo… let’s establish the fact that not everyone “bashes” LK unmercifully in these threads. Quoting her actual posts/words is not bullying her. Some of it gets to be a bit much from a very few… but then, some of the commentary like calling posters cockroaches (& fangirls ) has been a bit much as well.

LK is all over SM defending herself, complete with insults and the usual tactics - I do not believe this one small forum is keeping her from doing that. She is free to say whatever she pleases - which is still not helping her case in any way whatsoever but it seems that ship has sailed… and she does not care. So be it. This forum is privately owned - and can set their own conditions and rules. The old no shoes, no shirt, no service kind of thing.

After reading IM’s last sneering post here… one would think there would be concerns about that as well from those who dislike “bashing”.

It also seems from some of the most recent posts that the intent is to shut down yet another thread… awesome.

If some posters had been involved in a similar mess with that type of person - as I have - I think you would have a very different take on this case and the types of personalities involved. It is all very easy to sit at your keyboard and pooh pooh and critique - but when you are out there dealing with that kind of venomous situation, it is constant anxiety and a heaping dose of WTF mixed with What’s Next and OMG. Bashing, threats and bullying that makes the minor sh-stuff said on this forum look like… well, nothing. Endless sleepless nights. Tears of anger and frustration when no one is looking. Finding cameras “hidden” around the property. Knowing you are being watched. Pleading for help - and being dismissed. Fun times.

Some of you have NO idea. Not a clue. I would not wish our almost two year hellish experience that ruined one life and scarred many others on anyone…

That seems harsh. Beginner to me means an up-down level rider. She is obviously well beyond that in that video. I would say an average Training Level rider in an appropriate Training Level class.

As I’ve said before, I don’t think it’s really necessary to discuss anyone’s riding ability in detail. That is a thing that will get a thread shut down, with good reason.

And it’s really immaterial, anyway. It does not seem like it was behavior in the saddle that was the problem.
