Buck Davidson arrested Marion county

Violation Code 784.03 1a1 is Felony Battery which does cover Domestic situations so. it’s
possibly related. Plus the 11/7/23 court action was same date of arrest .

You didn’t make a mistake Munchingonhay. The forum has a couple of different quote options and you used them both. It was not hard to follow and I appreciated your input and personal experience as it relates to this thread.

What I found harder to figure out were the first couple of dozen posts speculating on who was actually charged, based on the OG article and further comments. I still can’t make hide nor hair of it when I read them back but that’s on me and I accept it.

It appears that Buck was charged with a misdemeanor and released yesterday.

Oh Em….did you have a dream?

It’s actually quite unfortunate that Buck’s arrest is being aired on here. Andrea wanted nothing to do with publicizing it or their personal business. But alas, he is a public figure, so here we are.

The arrest was at the judgement of the police based on the pattern of events, the evidence, and the information provided.

It can however in Fl it’s shown as “domestic” on the charging document because there are enhanced penalties for domestics. And a felony battery would be something pretty serious. Either a serious weapon and or a relatively serious injury

And your point is?

It’s quite unfortunate that he was in a situation that led to him being arrested.

Actually 784.03 1a1 is misdemeanor battery.
There is a separate charge for domestic battery as well as definitions. He wasn’t charged with that so maybe there was a reason .
The felony battery is defined further down.

So the charges have been downgraded from
felony battery to a misdemeanor which. suggests to me that the victim recanted and/or
witnesses have disappeared and refuse to testify.

That’s the same charge that was there the day he was arrested. Unless you found something showing a downgrade.

I don’t think that means anything about what actually happened. we don’t know.

Do you have any idea how many women in abusive relationships don’t want to press charges/testify? And it sounds like the ex-wife wants this to not be public.

I am not saying he is guilty of anything, it’s just a very, very common dynamic, especially when kids are involved.

I have seen women who were in horrifically abusive situations cover things up so the ex doesn’t get into legal trouble.

In short, you can’t read much into this.

So, technically my sister should have been charged with battery all those times she touched me in the car and mom didn’t believe me. I knew I was right.

:rofl:Thanks, I needed a laugh today. That’s why I only ever made faces at my little sister.

I wonder if/when safesport will suspend him.

Ummmm no.

So to sum up what is actually known, Buck was arrested for misdemeanor battery, and Buck is currently involved in a difficult, contentious separation and divorce?

And the rest is speculation and gossip?

We don’t even know if he was charged and released, or if he was charged and held? Held seems unlikely for misdemeanor battery unless there was a lot more going on than was charged.

FWIW, I don’t like to jump on the “Of course the woman was lying/exaggerating!” bandwagon anymore than I like to jump on the battered woman syndrome bandwagon. There just isn’t enough info here. If it wasn’t Buck Davidson, none of us would care.

Charges and cross charges are incredibly common in difficult divorces as one party attempts to gain leverage over the other. My brother’s ex got a restraining order against and got him barred from their house, claiming he was violent, because he aggressively pushed a leaking trash bag away from him to keep from staining his work suit.

I am NOT saying that’s what’s happening here, there just isn’t enough info.

Poor Buck, poor Andrea, poor kids. Sucks all around.

PS - I am perfectly willing to revise my opinion when more facts come to light.

The divorce was already final ahead of the arrest.

I posted this already and it didn’t look like I replied to your post so took it down to retry (for those wondering ab my deleted post above)

So it’s likely about the kids and custody/child support/visitation, etc.

With small children it’s often uglier after the divorce is final.

There does appear to be something going on still and something happened on the 7th.
