Chasing Time (Race Hunter ‘19)

I’m sure my neighbors wondered what all the screaming was about. Wonderful race!

What I was going to say! Another gold star for @LaurieB’s breeding program.

Chasing Time looks like he’s figured this out, and he showed he’s got grit the way he ran down the leader.

So happy!!!

Thanks so much @skydy and @Mara!

What a great race by Chasing Time, I was as thrilled as everyone else. Hopefully it will be onward and upward from here.

Look at his happy bouncy steps after the race, looks like he’s prancing around and absolutely full of himself. He still has his ears forward and looks like he’s still got plenty of gas in the tank.

It looks like our boy is headed to Oaklawn for the winter!

Did he come out of the race in good shape? He sure looked well and happy.

The most recent update said he’s doing well. Per MRH:

Chasing Time has exited his race and impressive win in great condition. We are excited to announce that he will be heading to Oaklawn Park for their 2021 - 2022 meet. We will report back with more details once we have confirmed a shipping date!

From MRH

In horse racing, it’s never too early to begin Kentucky Derby dreaming, even if so much remains uncertain and can change right up until the time the horses are loaded into the starting gate for the greatest race in the world on the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville.

As 2021 winds down, and the official birthday for 2-year-olds to turn 3 is just around the corner, on Jan. 1, future books in Las Vegas are already accepting wagers on the winner of the 2022 Kentucky Derby.

Three of MyRacehorse’s current 2-year-olds, Chasing Time, Duke of Love, and Forbidden Kingdom, have already caught the eye of Vegas oddsmakers, Caesars Sportsbook at William Hill Nevada and Circa Sports, with both offering future book wagers for next year’s Kentucky Derby, which will be run on May 7th.

Chasing Time is listed at odds of 100-1 at Circa Sports. Duke of Love is listed at 225-1 at Circa Sports. Forbidden Kingdom’s odds at Circa Sports are 125-1 and 100-1 at Caesars Sportsbook at William Hill Nevada.

You can view the full list here, courtesy of Horse Racing Nation.

Additionally, the staff at Horse Racing Nation has released their annual Derby rankings, a list that is constantly updated and can be viewed here.

Forbidden Kingdom lands at No. 14 among the list of 500 current 2-year-olds rated by HRN. Chasing Time checks in at 19 and Duke of Love is ranked 62nd.

The criteria for HRN’s rankings are based on a rating system that takes in consideration the Kentucky Derby points leaderboard, and the current status of a horse (must be actively in training), speed figures, and staff sentiment.

While we are still 150 days from Derby Day 2022, it’s still fun to see the recognition our three colts are receiving at this early stage of their careers, and it’s definitely something to celebrate as the clock marches forward on the most celebrated race in our sport!

good luck to all. super cute guy too. I have told myself that if I ever buy a share in one of these horses; I would be even more on the bandwagon if the horse was located near my house. I would love to actually drive to his nearby base and watch him train and race on the weekends when I was able. In all honesty I would likely be a pretty active shareholder driving to the track to watch the races if it were the case.

Without knowing where you live it’s hard to make a comment but you can often tell where the horse will be running by looking at the trainer and circuit indicated in the Offering. No big surprise.

You can always show up at the track as a member of the general public but any time access is restricted such as is often the case in the paddock or winners circle, you have to sign up to participate in the MRH lottery like the rest of do. Same with access to any of the training facilities; MRH access is limited (and states so also in their offering). MRH ‘owners’ are not ‘owners’ in the general sense of the term; no free or open access to trainers, the backside, etc.

yes, I understand the rules of MRH. That’s because in the big picture of things; the owners of MRH actually own the horses and all the luxuries that come with them; not the people who actually buy the hundreds of shares. Great gig for them. I was insinuating that I would just drive to the track as gen-pop and watch. Not that I was expecting to be an intimate team member per say.

Can someone explain this phrase in Chasing Time’s newest race announcement?

“ Being that Chasing Time qualifies for the race conditions, he is not eligible to be claimed out of this event.”

I’m glad, of course, but doesn’t every horse in every race have to qualify for the race condition?

(BTW, saw his new paddock training video and it’s amazing how much he’s matured physically! Makes me covet him for an eventer, lol!)

His race is an Allowance Optional Claimer. The allowance conditions are that a horse entered in this race cannot have won a previous race other than maiden, claiming, or starter, or has not won 2 races total–which he qualifies for.

However, if someone had a horse they wanted to run in this race and it did not meet those conditions, they could enter the horse for the Optional Claiming tag of $80,000.

3 of the 8 horses in the race don’t meet those conditions and are running for a tag. The remaining 5 entries (including Chasing Time) are not.

(I hope that’s clear!)

He ran a competitive 2nd. The winner romped the field. Chasing Time was the best of the rest.

Winner is by Frosted out of a More Than Ready mare.

Chasing Time will stretch out to a mile on 1/14. How do you think he will do with the added distance?

Woooohooo!
