It was said on Facebook. Of course, the accuracy of that can be questionable. I haven’t got a piece of him so hadn’t looked up the actual race chart, but people said he was still on Lasix for this one and wasn’t running for points. If the chart says something different, I’m sure it’s right instead.
The people on the Facebook groups know NOTHING. Seriously, not only do they know nothing, but they are totally unreceptive to learning.
I promise you he is running off lasix and for points.
I’m guessing those people on Facebook don’t own in him either, they keep hammering on how excited they are on myracehorse that he’s going to try for points for the Kentucky Derby. They’ve been saying this since before his last allowance win that that was the goal.
Facebook isn’t a good source for racing info. Here are the Equibase entries for his race. Note the blank “Med” column for all the runners. None of them are running on lasix.
Actually, that is the goal.
I mean MyRacehorse has been saying, not the facebookers, I was a bit jumbled in my wording
With my one share I joined his Facebook page. Somebody posted a race chart with the entries, post position, etc., and there were several (L) notations on that, including Chasing Time. This seemed sort of fishy to me, since they can’t run on Lasix in the bigger races. Thus, I asked the experts.
Thank you all.
Weather is supposed to be horrendous on Saturday
Does anyone happen to know what his barn name is?
Here are the past performances. Sorry the quality is bad, they are from MRH. The only Ls are in previous, non-points races, which is allowed.
Nobody is running on Lasix in the Rebel. Everybody is running for points, except the Baffert horse because of Baffert’s unrelated troubles. MRH even said this much in every update I saw.
I’m really not sure where the confusion lies, but there are definitely a lot of people confused about this. And unfortunately they spread that confusion all over social media, creating even more confusion!
Ok… I give up. Twice I tried to share the video of CT gallop from today & it won’t show up.
Here’s a rundown of each entry.
Just watched his paddock video. There was a lot of enthusiastic yelling— must be a decent-sized group of MRH owners there.
Just a few minutes to go! If anyone can watch the race live, please post the results here.
Was in the mix early, could not keep up. Sixth? Seventh?
5th, apparently, just ahead of Newgrange.
I’m so glad he beat newgrange, maybe on to the Arkansas Derby next?
Arkansas Derby would be a tall order. Asmussen is in Saudi Arabia - we’ll see what he says when he gets back.
Chasing Time has absolutely no concept of “quit”. Even losing as much ground as he did having to go five wide in the stretch, he kept trying.
While it would have been awesome to see him win or earn points, I thought the race was pretty encouraging. It seems worth trying him again in triple crown prep company if he comes out of the race in good order.
So are we ready for Saturday?!? It’s the big leagues baby!
