Child in my pasture- WWYD?
Update time again.

My fence is back up fully and working. I left it switched on this time so if she decides to come back she’ll get a surprise.

SO says that while she did chat a little to the boys, most of the time she used it as a way to slip a rude remark or insult in. :frowning: He also said that by the time the fence was finished, she seemed to be getting on a lot better with them.

SO said she asked to use the bathroom again, and he/gran took her to the same one as yesterday. It’s one we don’t use much- the seat is always cold, the room attracts spiders, and it really needs a fresh coat of paint! :o  (does that make me a bad person?

Still no word on her social worker, or from her mom. Grandad is still ill- not worse, but not better either. :frowning:

As far as I can tell, her mom had a one night stand, so daddy could be anywhere but isn’t in the picture. I’m sure I’ve missed something, but I can’t think of it right now. :)
Glad to hear things went well… maybe interacting with the boys was good for her. You have handled this wonderfully and done a good job of taking the high road. I hope the grandfather gets better soon…

Thank you.

“Can you put National Velveeta on a Seabiscuit” - That’s really clever in my peanut mind’s opinion. I shall ask my mare, she has Seabisucit in her twice over.

sigh
“daft and dewy-eyed dopes” is from “It’s Possible” in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella”

Again—not British.

But it did have mice that turned into horses (maybe for some cheese?)

You are so right, Artful. Eerily appropriate for this thread, doncha think?

“BUT THE WORLD IS FULL OF ZANIES AND FOOLS,
WHO DONT BELIEVE IN SENSIBLE RULES,
AND WONT BELIEVE WHAT SENSIBLE PEOPLE SAY,
AND BECAUSE THESE DAFT AND DEWY-EYED DOPES KEEP BUILDING UP IMPOSSIBLE HOPES…”

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Cinderella: It’s possible for a plain yellow pumpkin to become a golden carriage. It’s possible for a plain country bumpkin and a prince to join in marriage.

Fairy Godmother: And four white mice are easily turned to horses Such fal de rah and fiddle dee dee of courses Quite possible!

Both: It’s possible!

Cinderella: For the world is full of zanies and fools who don’t believe in sensible rules and won’t believe what sensible people say

Impossible, things are happening everyday!

So where were you geniuses:winkgrin: yesterday on the Wicked Witch issue:confused:

That’s a fac !
Agreed. Must. Not. Type!
Yeah, seriously, I’ve been biting my fingers for weeks on end to keep from doing that.

Finally
facinated, you’ve been sniffing the blue cheese again, haven’t you? Tsk tsk…
Some reasonable explanation.

Zanies and fools and sensible rules – purrrrrfect.

they were busy

They were busy trying to figure out how to help KookiCat rather than snarking. Try it sometime.
Meanwhile KookiCat, I hope you and your horses are safe, and that you are eating cheese with Glinda the Good Witch.

kookicat now that it appears you are indeed a witch(although the witch of cheese) and you are from England-so does it mean the whole Harry Potter and Hogwart Academy is true:lol::lol: You don’t run into walls in train stations and disappear do you!!!:lol::lol::lol::D:D:D

Good job by you, Elphaba!

Hope you don’t have any more trouble with her.

Kookicat, glad to hear the fence got taken care of.
Can we get a COTH cheer for neighbor Dave and the cavalry too? --I don’t expect you to pass it along really.

“Gee, dave, I’ve been talking this whole mess over with a couple hundred folks around the globe, and they think you’re swell” might be a little bit of a weird intro to COTH.

I do think that between you actually following up on her truancy with consequences (which probably doesn’t happen that much), and then Dave and Co. coming to help (which shows that nobody is making her unhelpable), some good might come into the little bugger’s life.

Great update kookicat. You have been a model of grace throughout this, er, situation. Except maybe for the keying-the-truck preventive dousing, but that was reflexive, and effective, and Miss Manners shall look the other way. I do wish Gran & her DH all the best and quick riddance of the beastly granddaughter.

And while I enjoy a good round of whack-a-troll as much as anyone, I’ll refrain from any other (tempting) comments to keep the thread open for additional updates. Except to note that Cotswold, a double Gloscester with chives and onions blended in and know as “pub cheese” in the UK, is spelled like the region, from which its name is derived.

:no::no Please… just stop…

So glad this has all ended so well. I also wanted to send a thank you to farmer Dave et al but they might think that was creepy.

On a different note, my fairly non-horsey husband has been asking me for daily updates on this thread and has even called me at work to find out what’s going on. Definite “Thread of the Year” possibilities here. Enjoy your week everyone!
