Good luck to all - Farmer Dave, Gran & her DH, Kookicat & her SO and of course her horses. Let’s hope they’re not chased or otherwise bothered. Farmer Dave is a genuinely nice man, I suspect.
Well, I have been following this thread with much interest (and laughter). Good for Dave for taking on this girl. Hopefully, it will work out wonderfully. She needs a lot of love and some firm guidance!
Wow. I hope Knight Farmer Dave can help her - and I hope she gets a good caseworker that also gets her into some therapy.
Actually, would you please ship Knight Farmer Dave over here? I REALLY need some good neighbors, and he sounds awesome! Does he know he has a fan club?
Oh, thats great news! I am not worried about her welfare, but those of the other 5 billion people on earth. For every kid that is given every chance the rest of us are safer.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
I have no idea what kind of mental helath or social services they have in GB, but just a stable environment with a strong adult presence can do wonders for some kids.
I think this kid attacks you becuase you have everything she really wants–a lovely farm, love, horses, and adulthood but not too old. Imagine how unfair that seems to a child that has nothing?
She doesn’t really hate you–she wants to be you.
There is always a risk with kids like these, but geeting them well started into adulthood can keep her form being a greater risk when she is old enough to do real damage.
Dave can just put her in the round pen and send her around until she submits:D Its a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
No! She’s already confined to a relatively small island. Let’s not release her on a larger population! Unless that other continent was that cold one down south? But think of the trouble she would cause for the penguins! Sorry, Mother Country- you’re going to have to keep this one in quarantine.
Sending best wishes to Farmer Dave, his family, Kookie, Gran & Grampa and the 12-year-old. In the right situation, there may be hope for her. Yes, take all precautions previously mentioned – but this may be a Godsend for the Kiddo.
My barn owners adopted a troubled girl (victim of sexual abuse) and although she has been a real heartache from time to time, progress IS being made. My BO and his family have much in common with Farmer Dave. People like that make the world a better place.
i know why hes done it-- and i applaud him
its becuase in all of ths there an eliment thats missing for the child you know what that is we all do, and dave does becuase hes already got one adopted son and kids of his own hes a family man w th a gold heart beucase hes offering this young girl a family security but mos t of all
what she craves for and isnt getting -------- thats LOVE
to b truthful i would have done the same as if you look at my original post i did say you could do xyz and give the gril a chance
it will work becuse if she cant love ot dont love its rebel in her at the mo but give her time and horses will do what they do they bring love and encoruage love this girl now has a good chance to become a swan
Haha I know what really happened.
HL found the right farrier with loads of bulges for Mod 1 and she didn’t want to be disturbed in that dark back stall…so just get rid of all the distractions.
Oh WOW
After listening to a friend of mine talk about this site she finally sent me a link and I came to visit. I’ve managed to read 2 threads…this one and the Crazy Crayola Trainer one, where you all are going to dress up as crayons…
Yep… I think I’ll fit in pretty good
To the OP, I’d keep an eye on the girl esp with her right next door. Maybe Dave and his family can have a positive impact on her. It doesn’t sound like she’s had much of that in her life. BUT… who knows what her real emotional/mental state really is. Sounds like she is able to put on an act to fool those around when she needs to (the post where she fooled Gma into letting her walk the dogs…then showed real colors when left them).
I don’t suppose the new caseworker can get her any sort of psych evaluation and counsing? Maybe she can be salvaged, maybe she can’t. From the posts it sounds like she has a serious lack of respect and remorse over her actions…I’d be very careful…
Back in the day when kids would trespass they ran the risk of getting their backsides shot with rock salt. My EX “braggs” of going into gardens to take watermelon or fresh corn on the cob etc…and how much it stung when they got shot. He was a slow learner.
Wow can someone give me a synopsis…32 pages…I read the first several in the beginning!!
Don’t forget… less grain more hay :D… absolutly NO sweet feed or hand feeding treats ;).
But in a seriousness… This girl will probably benefit greatly by being in a stable environment with a working relationship and a kind/firm/strong male/father role model the likes of which it seems she has not had thus far.

Plain oats is best, if you have to feed any grains.
Don’t forget to use a patience tree to tie to for a while every day and hobbles if she paws too much.
here we go
Ok, these threads are better than soap operas. I think we need to “knight” Dave with a Crayon color. Any ideas?
asanders and kookikat- Those methods of rushing to judgement, and lack of compassion toward one’s neighbors, especialy children, remind me of the attitudes which inspired the Revolutionary, and Civil wars. The British lost one, the South lost the other. Always be nice first!
Not bloody likely!!.. Anyone or anything chasing my horses will be dealt with promptly!!!
A call to the local gendarmes, and a repeated call, and a repeated call!!!
Jolly Old England

the serene English Countryside is shattered by 12 yr old girl chasing Kookicat’s horses with a stick.
KookiCat captures girl, Girl curses Kookicat.
KookiCat moves horses, good cause that pasture fence is torn down.
KookiCat rides out, finds neighbors’ 2 dogs tied to post.
Takes dogs to neighbor, finds girl there.
Girl is granddaughter of neighbors. Grandpa is ill. Grandma is in charge.
Girl is brought by Grandma to Kookicats to repair fence.
Girl tries to key KookiCat’s vehicle, is caught, sprayed with hose by KC.
Girl’s mother is in city, no father (one night stand?)
Caseworker of girl is sacked. No new caseworker controlling her.
Girl calls KC all night on phone.
Girl’s mother missing in action.
Girl’s grandma wants to relinquish control over her.
Farmer Dave neighbor, has young boys. Offers to take Girl for Grandma.
Inbetween, while we were all asleep, Facinated enters thread, train wreck occurs, we all sleep, all the fun happens overnight.
Meanwhile, KookiCat, having been called a witch by facinated, chooses aka as witch from Wizard of Oz. Lots of analogies to Oz and Alice in Wonderland.
Waiting now to see if kid relaliates further against KC aka witch.
Is it safe to post this?
OK guys is it safe to post this? Will someone swear out a warrant for me (or my horses as I post under their names?)
The solution is exactly what we used for years for wayward raccoons around the house.
Get haveahart trap-this one must be for big dog size, as we don’t know size of child.
Bait trap-HMMM for a girl of 12, maybe video games? What is favorite food of a 12 yr old in England? Pizza?
Put trap in field-Wait
Take trap with girl to some distant location. Release into the wild (We used to take raccoons to wildlife preserve)
Horses happy. KC happy. Grandparents worry free.
I actually have no idea if she can be trained or not, but as she is at am impressionable age I am all for her at least being controled by a strong, patient man.
When I say impresionable age, I mean if she really is a sociopath (now anti-social personality disorder) she can’t be saved–but she still needs to be controled becuase she will blame whomever is in her radar right now for all her future failings. And perhaps punished for it.
I do beleive there are people who simply do not have any empathy and cannot be saved, but they can still learn how to co-exist with us humans and not cause harm or damage.
nature or nurture, this girl needs obdedience training and I’d bet my $$ on Dave over a few hours of therapy a week any day. She needs both, but a good Dave can trian a horse, a bull, a dog. . children are not all that different. Applied cognitive behaviral therapy is just good old horse training:D
OP may become the best role model this girl ever has. I am glad OP will be nearby but the child will be under control. If the girl wants to change, she has OP to modle her behavior after.
Wow! Go ride and shuttle kids around for one afternoon and you end up late to the party. And I thought with the troll banished not much would be happening.:lol:
So sorry to hear that Gramps is taking a turn for the worse. I do hope that he rallies.
Farmer Dave and his wife are definitely candidates for sainthood! I’m with everyone else who suggested that he makes sure that neither he nor one of his boys is ever alone with the girl. The fact that she was still making prank phone calls to Kooki last night is worrisome - more proof that she is going to be a tough nut to crack. It would be great if all she needed was a firm hand and some love and attention but unfortunately life rarely works out like a Disney movie.
Birdsong, here are some major points:
Awful girl chases Kooki’s horses with stick and curses at her
Girl returns and tears down fence
Kooki discovers that girl is living with her Gran and that Gramps is in hospital. Girl is out of control and has also left dogs tied to fence while out causing other mayhem.
Gran brings girl to fix fence. Girl is rude and hateful. Girl is caught in the act as she is about to use a hoofpick on Kooki’s truck - Girl is shot with hose. Score one for Kooki!
Throughout Posters condemn girl in various serious and humorous ways
All the while Facinated takes offense and defends girl - trainwreck ensues with much entertaining bickering which continues to degenerate until it gets to personal name calling and other issues involving advertising of stallion and missing blankets are brought up. Mod 1 cleans things up, bickering continues, Facinated is banned. See links in previous pages for cached posts.
Farmer Dave, the neighbor, brings boys over to help with the fence repair on the following day. Now that Gramps has taken a turn for the worse he offers to foster the girl for Gran. Mother is MIA and she is needing a new social worker. Father not in picture.
Oh, and last night there were repeated hang up calls to Kooki.
There have also been many entertaining posts regarding Wicked Witches, cheese and skipping sex with your husband. Really, this is one thread you ought to read - a synopsis just doesn’t do it justice!:lol:
So, which page of the train wreck did facinated get BANNED?!?!
Oh my God I about lost it when I saw his name, and below it…BANNED!
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
If anyone ever deserved the Ignore function!
It was page 28.
