Child in my pasture- WWYD?

Bluuuuuey! and C&C! You betta watch out or you’ll have GLS after you, and me too!

Time for Kookie to really demand the policeman taking over from Owen get with it - whoever she has to go to.

It’s disheartening to have to spend a lot of money defending yourself

  • maybe soon time to hire a lawyer.

I’m praying DM and brat go back to city. If she didn’t fall out with her boyfriend, maybe she’ll go back to him. If Gran’s property ever became available, I’m thinking she would sell, move back to the city and drink the rest.

Still, there is a long summer still to go.

I’m just trying to keep it all straight. Who did KC run into by her barn? The kid or the Mom? We know the kid is like a bad penny, but if it was the mom, that is kind of kreepy --I don’t think she can use the horse crazy kid excuse.

KC, SO SORRY for all your trouble. And saying an extra prayer for the cows too.

According to recent articles, they use knives.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article4269818.ece

Knife crime has overtaken terrorism as the No 1 priority for the Metropolitan Police, one of Britain’s most senior officers said yesterday.

Which just goes to prove my theory that people will find someway of hurting/killing even if they had to resort to plastic sporks and nerf balls.

Since this is the thread that brought me out of lurkdom… slightly belated, can I request a share of any shade of orange? I will not be putting it in my sig, but keeping it like an empowering secret. No one has to know you shared with a new girl :).

I’m still wondering about the work farm thing- but I may be just naive, or terribly sadistic- I may just enjoy the thought of ill tempered youths learning how far they’ll get with ill tempered equines.

I agree with carrying a whistle. I know it sounds a little ridiculous but my cousin, who is a police officer, told me to carry one in my purse as pepper spray is illegal in Canada. If you can’t get pepper spray, try even carrying something like a little bottle of perfume or bug spray or something with you. Most of those are unpleasant to distract an attacker if sprayed in the eyes.

Good luck, and I hope this is all over with very soon.

Pepper spray is illegal in Cananda too? No guns and no pepper spray?? No wonder you guys need so many geese for protection!

Spraying crazy baby mama with alchohol wont work. She is immune. Are big snarly dogs illegal too? Mayeb its time to adopt a new pet:winkgrin:

no we dont have guns
but farmers do sometimes have them, and shooting clubs etc game keepers armed forces and police

guns have to be registered and licensed and you have to have a good reason to own one
plus all aminition to be kepted with guns in a locked safe place

in general no-- but kids have knives and knuckle busters which police have been trying to clamp down on

Here’s keeping my fingers crossed for K…

And please, get that restraining order, injunction, or whatever legaleze is in your jurisdiction. As far as not wanting to irritate Owen’s replacement… IME, cops who are forced to take action where the complaintant is proved right are in a hurry to prove how supportive they were, rather than to punish the complaintant. If you never need them, it doesn’t matter if they patronise you. If you DO need them, they’d rather be proactive than get a formal (and possibly very public) complaint about how they had been dragging their feet all along and just look what happened…

Good luck.

I don’t even think it’s legal to carry pepper spray in the UK, but I could be wrong.[/QUOTE]

You are right.

Basically here in the uk, if you harm someone who is say, trying to break in to your home, or is attacking you, they then will most likely sue you for infringing their human rights.

I kid you not.

We PAY compensation to crimminals in jail because and get this, their mattress is too hard. I’ll try to find a link to that one.

In the UK at the moment, the criminal/criminal minded rule the roost.

If I was 20 years younger, I’d emmigrate PDQ.

On whistles, watch out which kind you carry.
I used to train border collies, so carried a shepherd’s whistle hanging from a lanyard around my neck.
Once someone asked what it was and when I explained, they said “oh, it looks like a kind of women’s birth control gidget”. :o

So, you may consider carrying only a standard whistle. :stuck_out_tongue:

On this situation, the OP can’t really do much at all, until the mother or kid do some prosecutable damage, other than watch out and try to avoid that it happens.
Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.:frowning:

Can you sue for infliction of emotional distress in the UK? All I can say is WOW!

At this point I would be talking to the most aggressive attorney in your area. The PC might ignore you but when a very knowlegable attorney starts making threats, oops “promises” people take notice. I hope that you have kept written records of date, times and events. I would be filing papers for everything . Any damage incured would be taken to small claims court. I don’t play.

Another well worth reading

This mother is a bully. Sometimes nice people don’t know how to stand up to bullies. They get their power from nice people backing down, like Gran.

Now, for Kooki, you have to decide if you are going to be bullied. If the police will not enforce your property rights, and do something about a kid and mother terrorizing property owners, you must get a lawyer. Where do they come from? If it is another town, or jurisdiction, you may be able to call that police station and file a complaint. Please don’t continue to let these people intimidate you.

Oh yes, and then some.

Unfortunately we signed up to the Human Rights Act a few years ago.

Some Solicitors and Barristers (they are seperate qualifiactions here in the UK) thought “goodie goodie” lots of Legal Aid Money coming my way.

Then there were those of us in practice who thought “holy shit”

The :eek::eek: contigent were right.

It has got so out of hand that you dare not even hit someone who is robbing you.

My Practice did Nicholas Brown - v - Regina which went all the way to Strasburgh - it is an S&M case and is now required reading on the LPC.

We also did the Appeals for 2 of the Birmingham Six - Y’all can google those cases.

I hang my head in shame:o

Is there any thing KC can do, or is she merely at the mercy of a madwoman?

:lol::lol:

Some of them are;) But I have it on impeccable authority that the UK’s banned breeds are in fact Gentle Angels who never do anything more violent than give kisses:D

Oh, we do that in the US too. Except for Florida. You want to watch your B&E in Florida.

 We had a case just this weekend in my town. One guy shot another guy (he’s okay) who was breaking into a bunch of cars at a nice hotel. Guess who’s in jail…

Yes there are, but all involve financial outlay.

Under the terms of the Prevention of Harrassment Act 1997, she could take action as the definition of Harrassment is deemed to be

1 Prohibition of harassment (1) A person must not pursue a course of conduct—
(a) which amounts to harassment of another, and
(b) which he knows or ought to know amounts to harassment of the other.
(2) For the purposes of this section, the person whose course of conduct is in question ought to know that it amounts to harassment of another if a reasonable person in possession of the same information would think the course of conduct amounted to harassment of the other.
(3) Subsection (1) does not apply to a course of conduct if the person who pursued it shows—
(a) that it was pursued for the purpose of preventing or detecting crime,
(b) that it was pursued under any enactment or rule of law or to comply with any condition or requirement imposed by any person under any enactment, or
© that in the particular circumstances the pursuit of the course of conduct was reasonable.

There are both Civil and Criminal remedies - ASBO - Anti social Behaviour Orders.

Unfortunatley in England, ASBO’s tend to be worn as a badge of honour.

The penalities are paltry and the offender still knows where you live.

I tell you, the UK is going to hell in a hand cart thanks to the Human Rights Act!
