My mares are nothing if not entertaining LOL (or irritating). I can always tell when one of my horses are NQR - if they aren’t eating there is something wrong! LOL!! I think she is more picking that eating eating though… and pushing the hay around the stall etc.
I just checked on the girl. My theory is 3 hrs after dark- it is usually pretty accurate. BUT one suggestion. If I would braid her tail and then wrap it up in vetwrap. The way it is you will have a really bloody tail full of straw and YUCK!!! Just wrapping the top gets it out of the way of the actual foaling but does nothing for all the mess!!
I always do my tails like that… Besides, she is not happy about having much done to her anyway right now, and I’m not going back to the barn and risk slowing her down. Once I’m done with barn chores in the pm, I watch her from the cam and don’t go down until I think it might be time.
Does Chloe ever lay down and relax? She is really keeping her stall in pretty good shape this evening. Not enough energy to tear it up or saving her energy for the big event.

here in Florida the mares need that long bug swatter even in the winter/spring.
Not much - unless she went down when i was sleeping, or when I was in court this am she hasn’t lay down yet today outside that 2 min thing at 5ish. She will lie down in the wee hours for about 10 - 20 mins but she doesn’t really sleep/lie down.
I think tonight she just doesn’t want to move… only about another 20 mins or so of “daylight”
looks liek she is starting to think about it… hmmmm…
Hopefully not an April Fool for you today…
I have all my chores done, but I have to hop in the shower…so if she could wait another 20 mins, that would make my day

ok I"m in now, the storm is rapidly approaching and I just braved the lightning and brought mine in. Don’t know how much longer I will be able to keep the computer up but I’m watching too!
My cat is mesmorized with Chloe! I think it’s all the tail swishing but he is watching her and creeping up to the computer screen with this concerned look on his face.
I’m beg to think that the storm has completly bypassed us (suits me just fine!). Chloe is starting to get more animated in the last little bit and Dove is wanting to hold her tail off to the left and is starting to pick up also… oooohhh hbooy!
