Chloe FILLY 4/10 - on CAM 1 tonight, Dove Filly! 4/5 - Dove/Ruby CAM 2 tonight (4/11

My maiden mare foaled at 344 days last year.

Hope Chloe will foal tonight so you can get some rest.

REALLY big storm is blowing up without warning… I had just enough time to bring everyone in that needed to come in and close the window. MY cams are up, but I have to go fix stalls and adjust the receivers so bear with me… more important to get the electronics out of the rain and the horses out of the lightening!!!

I can’t BELEIVE she didn’t foal. Both of them!!

Wow. I’m actually speechless!

My mare didn’t foal until she was slowly streaming milk. Of course, mares are different, just like people. I’m just thankful her filly had a good IGG.

Havent read thru all of these posts, but was wondering if you are using CHEMETRICS foal watch test? Gretchen just posted about her mare and the test.

Ok, the horses are in and evening chores are done. I can’t get Chloe’s cam much better - will try to get a little better when it stops raining, in the meantime it is visible, just grainy a little.
Chloe is once again VERY sweaty on shoulders, flanks and between hind legs. Like lather sweaty. There is no way she could be more sunk in in her hindquarters. She is half heartedly interested in her grain, and is moving it around in her bucket.
Dove is sweaty between her legs/around her udder. Only slightly damp on her shoulders. They are the only two mares that are sweaty in the barn. Dove has small beads of wax on both teats. Dove has zero interest in grain - she isn’t even pretending to want dinner. She also didn’t eat breakfast and never finished her dinner… I gave her less than a 1/4 cup of grain tonight just to make her think she was getting something. She went to her bucket then immed walked away.
OH, and both mares are sweaty under their tails…
We’ll see what happens… sigh. Another long night.

And to answer your question Sugarbrook… no I don’t use Chemetrics or any of the other tests … for a couple of reasons. Until these two mares (one of which I can’t get too upset with as she is a maiden) I am usually not THIS fooled. Usually by the time the milk is sweet and they have all the other signs we are so close that who cares what a test says? LOL the other reason is that I know me… I wouldn’t trust them and I wouldn’t “follow them” = in otherwords, I would still be up regardless. Esp when I have a mare that is acting like either one of these mares (esp in the last two nights).

Just was curious. I will watch and read and wish you a safe and happy foaling!!

It is ok sugarbrook! We all have our “things”

Hey, have y’all noticed that both girls are MUCH quieter tonight? or is it my imagination? Well… Dove it ain’t - I swear that if her tail didn’t swish occasionally or she didn’t shift weight from one hoof to the other I would think that the cam was stuck LOL. Chloe too has just “stopped” all of a sudden. only about another half hour until it is dark here… PLEASE PLEASE let this mean that they are thinking about going soon (at least one of them if not both) and if they do go let it be earlier rather than later so I might get a little sleep!!!

I noticed that Chloe is getting ‘boring’. She’s not really doing much. I hope that’s a good thing!

See I’m hoping that is what that means… she will shift around, ocassionally walk a circle, but by and large is quiet…

Well, let’s see if I can be of any help…

I’m going to go take a shower. A nice looooooooong shower. I’m even gonna shave my legs.

Well…I can almost guarantee one if not both will go tonight. I figure because I am cooped up in a hotel for work without my laptop and I can’t get marestare on my blackberry so I can’t see!!! Ugh!!! So, almost a guarantee its tonight! I only hope this Trak behaving a bit like suerte is not a sign of things to come when we start watching my Trak!

Castlegate… I will say that my other Traks aren’t like this! Val was easy and only kept me “up” for a couple of nights.

IM GONNA GO TAKE A SHOWER (and for those of you who might be interested Junebug and I are NOT together)

**sorry it took me so long to pop up I was having computer issues with the bad weather we had here

Chloe’s going to foal tonight…she’s just been waiting for the blue tail wrap the last 2 nights!

My Trak went 10 days early last year so not all Traks are late  Her foal was a big filly, I think she ran out of room and said I’m outta here!

So glad ya’ll are not showering together yet!

Make sure someone gives me play by play commentary if they go!

Also nice to know only some Trakehner mare’s are hold outs…

LOL!!! It is actually TEAL I’ll have you know!!! Dove has the BLUE one! I ran out of my other colors for vet wrap (who would have guessed I needed so many rolls… sigh). But as I was putting on the wrap tonight that is all I could think about was that she was just waiting for the blue tail wrap…

Finished my shower. WITHOUT Jaegermonster.

I now have to wait until my laundry is done before I can go to bed. So, they’ve got an hour

See now…I actually really struggled on what color vet wrap to buy! Didn’t want to do pink or blue as that wouldn’t be right if it was a filly and DJ had blue on! Ha ha ha - seems really neurotic now that I said it out loud!! Hey Anissa, because of you - I doubled my straw order today!!!ha ha ha …who knew it could take so long! Just kidding of course!
