I actually took a nap (I know, bad mommy)… I find it amusing that she has managed to just about get the tail wrap off. It takes a true talent to get one of my wraps off, her tail must be going a mile a minute!!! She is over in her corner commiserating wtih Dove (next in line mare). Wish she would just get on with it though!

To the Max… Not sure about that with the screen not opening… That is the ONE prob that I haven’t had with the stinking cam tonight!!! Can you open other cams from marestare? I ask 'cause I am not sure if there isn’t something that you download from them? Or is it an issue with IE?? I have no clue.

I was watching Chloe then went to check on my own, and determined it was not going to be last night…so crashed. I only got up once during the night to check. Mares! You know they are laughing at us, right?

Yep, she is laughing her rear end off at us!! (me esp I think)

She didn’t want to go outside again this am, then when I turned her out she went and stood in the run in and won’t leave LOL.

I could strangle this mare.

But she did manage to get the tail wrap off last night from all her wringing her tail!

Such a beautiful mare, just wish I could watch. For some reason Mare Stare is suddenly not working for me. :no: This is going to be an outstanding foal, so well worth the wait and worry.

Thanks Jinxy… I am very lucky to have this mare and this foal coming (got the mare IN FOAL to Veneziano) and I just love her. The excitement about seeing the foal makes it all the harder to wait for her to cook him/her.

Siegi - I am all for a healthy foal with no complications!!! I would LIKE a filly though (so I can have an excuse to keep it LOL) and I would LIKE it to be black (reasonably sure we can get that request LOL).

MOM though is convinced that the baby will be an all black FILLY with 4 white socks and a white marking on her face (she has had several dreams with this filly running through them). She is so convinced that she went out and bought the MOST NEON PINK foal halter you have ever seen!!! LOL. She said the bright pink will be BEAUTIFUL on a black filly (and it would - hope she’s right or it will be one confused colt!).

I agree that it will prob have long legs and a beautiful head (how could it not? both mom and sire are beautiful!!!).

I should be home around 5 pm cst and will bring her in then (and turn the cam back on).

She was so miserable today at lunch it isn’t even funny. I have lost all sympathy though for her. LOL. She had rolled quite a lot (judging by the stuff all over her)… otherwise everything the same.

I just got home and am about to go out - Just have to change clothes etc. I’ll have her up on marestare within the hour.

Try it now maxxtrot and tell me if it is still bad… I swear it is how the wind blows. I can get a good picture, leave for the day, come home and the picture is bad (and the receiver/cams have not moved)… sigh. As I have said before, I will not do wireless again and be “live” on the net. But I think (fingers crossed, touch wood, etc) that I got it sort of ok… it will get staticy every once in a while, but it is one line that goes away pretty quickly… I may play with it some more.

OK, update on the MARE. Vulva is red (before it was pink), and she is gaping/hanging open… foal can now walk out LOL. Milk is still clearish white, but is sweet now (YEAH!! we have progress), and I barely touched her teat and it came out in streams. Udder is also now warmish to touch as opposed to “cold”. I’m not going to go by whether she eats or not… I think she is one of those mares that EATS up until the end (my mare Cory is like that too). Not as “gassy” as she was last night too. And she rolled a lot outside today and really didn’t want to be out there.

So there it is in a nutshell.

Miserable mare

All she wants is to eat and that little pest in her belly won’t leave her alone. Poor girl. I’d be really surprised if she doesn’t have it tonight. That is a lot of biting at her sides.

With regards to typical foaling indicators…I’ve found that mares that waxed or streamed in the past did not necessarily do it every time. In fact, very few of my mares wax at all. The best indicator for me has been when the milk turns definitively sweet. Mine always go within 24 hours of that.

I gave you my prediction the other day - I’m with Siegi - black colt. For your mom’s sake, and the sake of that neon pink halter, I would be happy for her filly. Regardless, I know it’s going to be gorgeous and elegant - very modern.
