Not yet. Alas, there were some “production” delays, but it will be done tomorrow and we’ll head up this Friday night to get it first thing Saturday morning. YAY!

I finally made it to McIntosh yesterday. My training buddy and I were getting a little bored with Boundary Waters so we ventured to new trails. It was a little slick and some rocks on the trails so we took it slow (we both have barefoot horses and it was too wet for boots), but we had a great time. We were the only riders, but saw a few campers and a group of people putting canoes in the “Hooch”. It was fun to try some new trails. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to get over to McIntosh… it’s only like 30 minutes from my house!

Well I have had several trips driving my trailer alone and am ready to hit the trails. I would love to meet up with anyone at MacIntosh, BOundary Waters or in the Kennesaw, Powder Springs, Newnan area. I need riding buddies!!!

Aha! See that’s why I posted this: http://www.chronicleforums.com/Forum/showthread.php?p=4008783#post4008783
Still considering going because… drum roll please… We get our trailer Saturday!
I wouldn’t worry about the poker bit. Kingston south is a wonderful place. I hunted there for many years and got to know it pretty well; it’s a great place to let your horse gooooooooooooooooooooo!
Ok, girls. Pick a spot where there’s plenty of room to park and where all can enjoy the trails cuz we’re meetin-n-ridin!
Mr. C’Mare and I are packed and ready to move out tonight to head up to loverly Southern Pines, NC to hook up our baby Saturday morning.
I’ll bring the fake champagne!
YAY!!! We can meet at MacIntosh or Boundary waters unless someone has a better idea. It will be fun to meet up!
Oh and just ask LMH and HoneyB. I make a MEAN Deviled Egg Salad Sammich
I’ve got an endurance ride on the 18th (next Saturday), but I am game to meet up somewhere soon! Both McIntosh and Boundary Waters have plenty of parking space.
Whew. What a weekend. It was a long trip and my nerves are shot! But we’re home and this trailer is awesome.
Here she is! http://good-times.webshots.com/album/569863361yFLROR
Tom, the OWNER of EquiSpirit (how cool is that?), met us at 9am Saturday morning to go over everything with us, making sure we knew the procedures and pointing out all the amazing features built into our EquiBreeze. It truly is the best of both worlds: all the safety and attention to detail as found in the EquiSpirit but in an open-stock combo model that makes it affordable to us “average” folk.
Mr. C’Mare drove it 1/2 way home from North Carolina…safely navigating the VERY SCARY section of I-20 into and out of Augusta where they took us down to two very narrow lanes. I kept sucking in my breath as if it would suck in the sides of the trailer. :o
I took over after fueling up and completed the trip…repeating our new Mantra: Wider is Better! (Alas, Mr. C’Mare learned the hard way and our new trailer is now “broken” in :(…no bad damage…just a few dings on the left side and a fender that is less than perfect. Trust me, he felt HORRIBLE. But I reassured him that a) it’s a “thing” not a person; b) I still love him; and c) perhaps the Lord was protecting us from a worse situation down the road and we needed that hour to avoid it.) The rest of our trip was blissfully uneventful, although my neck and shoulders were one giant knot of tension.
Now that it’s home, I need to practice. One of our co-borders is a police officer who does driver training, so he will be working with us in an empty parking lot, full of cones, so we can learn how to back that baby up and park her properly. We’re both good with “forward”…“back” needs work.
So give me about three weeks to get comfortable and then we can have some fun.
She’s beautiful!
At least you have the first ding(s) out of the way. My husband (the expert trailer puller) put the first dent in ours. I will admit to adding to it since then, though.
I can do a trip sooner as long as the parking area allows me to pull around and face back out…anything to avoid backing right now
VERY Nice… HAPPY Trailering. Equispirit makes a great product.
Be sure to put some poop in there and some shavings, to make it smell like home, sweet, home before doing some trailer loading training.
You should post over on Horse Trailer World and show it off for Tom / Equispirit.
I’m surprized they didn’t put roof vents in over the head area… hmmm…
You need my old license plate… for those traveling behind you and viewing the horse’s behinds…
horsbmz (horse bums)
Oh believe me, Tom knows all…we’re keeping him up to date on the trailer since it’s the first model of the E’Breeze gooseneck.
The overhead vents were an “option” that I didn’t choose…just watching our costs.
I want to get a large magnetic sign made: POOP HAPPENS…JUST TAILGATE ME & SEE FOR YOURSELF!
Metro Atlanta Day Trips
Hi All
Don’t forget the Gwinnett County Parks, they are doing a bang up job with their Equestrian Trials. I just rode at the new Harbins Park, great! Tribble Mill is not bad but Little Mullberry is really nice. They have good parking, equestrian only, with water and clean port-a-lets. They do close after/during bad weather to maintain the trails. You can google the names or go to the Gwinnett parks website.
I recently rode at Charles Elliott WM and that was really good.
Hard Labor Creek is another.
Yellow River is over near Stone Mtn, I haven’t ridden there.
The Horse Park in Conyers.
Word of advice, many of the parks should be avoided during the really hot months, ticks and yellow flies!
So there are plenty of great options without having to drive forever!

Oh my stars the BEST Deviled Egg Sammich EVER.
Bumping this up because Dauset Trails is looking VERY inviting!
How is parking for bigger rigs?
Bumping cuz Spot and I need someplace else to go since both Boundary Waters and McIntosh are closed due to the floods
Dauset is closed from October - January for hunting
We need a place that has UBER EASY parking
1099 & Concord Church have easy parking, Smith Mill Bridge has super easy parking.
Um, could use more specifics Pnalley… like street address, website, maps. Thanks!
