5=sufficient
6=satisfactory

If this woman truly got a 5.5 and 6 for that ride for position and use of aids, I’m angry. HOW can the judges justify those scores? Satisfactory??? This is EXACTLY why the performance standards failed. If you can afford a nice horse and ride like THIS, you can get a 6 on position. How on earth does she get a 6 on position and use of aids??? It goes to show quality of horse is much more important that quality of the rider in the eyes of some judges, and that is the antithesis of dressage. This is so insulting.

I don’t see this at all in my FB feed. Perhaps you could make some comments on the posts?

Perhaps it is because they are on my friends list? Notable are Axel Steiner and Natalie Lamping weighing in on posts started by Natalie. They are also commenting on the IDRC group page. Again, they seem more concerned about what they are interpreting as the bullying of the rider’s ability (or lack thereof), as opposed to the abusive actions of the rider.

Thanks, 8 minute biscuit. Neither Natalie nor Axel are my FB friends (Axel, ugghh), but I’m thankful you noted them.

I wrote it already in my thread. I think judges in general do not want to scare off rich Amateur riders. They need them to fill the classes. Shows are outrageous expensive and somebody has to pay for it. So the paying customers need to be kept happy. Without riders they loose their job…

And by the way I just looked up Natalie Lampings FP page and I loved some of the comment :slight_smile: I agree with them very much!!

Huh, 8 minute biscuit. I don’t see comments in several of those feeds, but maybe I missed them. Thanks!

I wonder how many of those people on the list actually saw Friday’s ride.

Because the judging was very poor. I can’t explain it other than that. Either she or the horse were given a halo by the judges. But it is this kind of judging that makes the scores meaningless and confusing.

Well damn. If you are giving out scores in America I’m about to compete at the upper levels over there. Find myself a flashy mover and just hold on. That’ll be good enough it seems.

But seriously, how are actual professionals seeing this as bullying? I want to delete that word from the damn vocabulary…especially because people don’t understand how to use it.

They are mostly taking offense to the blog that named a bunch of judges in some misguided effort to hold someone accountable for the fact that this ride happened and the rider was permitted to complete the test despite multiple times wholloping the horse with her aids… Some are claiming to be concerned about the rider being bullyed and others thought the whole discussion was about the horse being bullied by the rider.

The fact of the matter is that people are outraged about the rider’s treatment of the horse, the horse’s obvious distress and the fact that none of the officials took action to stop it. The bullying argument is a way to try and change the subject and not address it…and it is coming from the people who were either there and did nothing or who have the most to lose if people get disgusted and leave the sport. Making this about bullying and protecting the rider from the angry mobs isn’t getting them any points from potential clients…

I have ridden all my life and while I am no wheres near an I2 rider, that is horrid. I have seen tons of rides, but not even a training level ride with that much abuse. WTH? How very sad. I think that poor boy looks sweet and amazingly tollerant. he should have launched her. I could not even tell what she was trying to achieve…:frowning:

To anyone yammering about the “bullying” this rider is getting, I have a question:

What EXACTLY would cross the line for you? What would a rider need to do to merit open criticism at this point, actually dismount and beat the horse 17 times in the face???

This was disastrous, awful, abusive riding and reports are that she has persisted in this manner for some time. She SHOULD BE ashamed of herself!!

Jesus Christ are we supposed to bend over to make her feel ok and welcome to do it again??!! What all are we supposed to lovingly and encouragingly accept?

Same question for Jane Arrasmith, now that we know who you are. What is that one doing to make sure this never happens again? Getting on her knees with her palm out for the next training check?

Cant talk about the professionals, but my opinion… And I am an expert on its Definition :slight_smile:

I think the bullying part is that people don’t stop to post about it. They are not going to do anything in order to prevent anything like this happen again but they harass the rider over and over again. There is no use doing this. If they would stop doing this and use their energy for something else it might be useful.

There was somebody posting in the thread of Natalie Lamping and I know she also posts here, who explained it very well. People should not post everything all over again all the time but but they should go and do something, for example they should vote at their organization to prevent anything like this happen again…!! Thats a lot more efficient then writing about it over and over again…

I don’t think the judges were poor. They had no choice. The system works like this and if they want to protect the system there is nothing else they can do…

It appears to be Jane Arrasmith at Iron Horse Ranch Dressage.
