I don’t know abou the donated services, but the auction has it’s own thread:
This. FACTS people, not conjecture and speculation. If you don’t have “I paid forX on these dates, I have all our emails and cancelled checks, but I never got X,” or something similar, then try not to post much, if at all.

Hmmmm wonder why it was deleted? I was starting to think I was a bit stupid since I coulnt find it
Lots of people were having a hard time finding it buried in the thread. A few people are trying to figure out where the best place is to post it so Mare Owners can contact Stallion Owners directly.

Daventry - could you start a thread…that way post 1 will have the info. And thanks for all you are doing. That way wronged parties can find the info.
The current silence of MHS speaks volumes about lawyers getting involved. I figure we will know when we know. It appears MHS has no intention of taking a mis-step. Fingers crossed.
The MHS page came right up when I tried. Nothing new on it.

I find it interesting that out of 30 horses, the MHS could only find two that they felt were being neglected.
I’ve seen no pictures of the horse to show body condition or needing hoof attention. Yet most of you seem to think all the horses are going to be seized in a day or two because they are in deplorable condition.
Where’s the proof? Why not name the confiscated horses? Why the secrecy?
I’ve admired Jills stallions from afar wishing I had something worthy of breeding to one. She’s been in the industry for years and if she’d wronged so many people, why has no one bothered to sue her?
The average Joe would try to recoup something!
I could just as easily come here with ten different screen names posting hyperbole of what a rotten person she is, but how many of you have seen actual proof? There’s two sides to every story… I would hope we’re still an “innocent until proven guilty society”…

Interesting…
If you’ve read all 155 pages of this thread, you’d have seen that we are way beyond the “innocent until proven guilty” portion. Many, many facts have been posted about all things Jill Burnell.
As for only taking 4 horses, I would imagine that they would take those deemed to be in the worst condition first. That doesn’t mean that the other aren’t neglected as well.
Sorry disagree wholeheartedly. Plenty of pile ons. Plenty of rumors and false statements. Some corrected some not. Combine that with lots coming from stallion owners with competing stallions and of course a court is going to see conflict.
There is also plenty of internet evidence out there of JB trashing others’ stallions. No one here has ever posited that the Gray Fox stallions weren’t worthy of breeding to. Jill’s own blog tears down other breeding operations.
Jill has WARRENTS and OPEN JUDGEMENTS - People have taken her to court, and won!
That guilty part would be the judgments in the public records regarding the trainers, feed stores and vets she has stiffed.
There are many here that have come forward and were wronged. Taking Jill to court is time consuming, and as all of her default judgments prove, even if you WIN Jill Burnell will not pay - that is why there are recorded judgments against her!
She HAS been proven GUILTY. That is why she has a warrant.
Horse neglect is a new detail to this saga. Seems that letting her farm get foreclosed on, then moving to a property without adequate facilities for horses hasn’t worked out quite as planned.
Because it’s an ongoing investigation with all the hyperbole and posturing that accompanies anything legal.
I’ve admired Jills stallions from afar wishing I had something worthy of breeding to one. She’s been in the industry for years and if she’d wronged so many people, why has no one bothered to sue her?
Err…they have! And, for most the cost to try to sue and recoup their initial investment would far outweigh the cost of the initial investment. Ask me how I know that ;).
The average Joe would try to recoup something!
No. The SMART average Joe would attempt to cut their losses.
I could just as easily come here with ten different screen names posting hyperbole
That “has” been done before. The person got caught. Perhaps contacting COTH moderators and they might just disclose who it was ;). Or, I’m sure there are a few on here that would be happy to out that person.
of what a rotten person she is, but how many of you have seen actual proof?
<raising hand>.
There’s two sides to every story… I would hope we’re still an “innocent until proven guilty society”…
And that is what is occurring currently in Marin County. So I’m sure it will all come out eventually.

Post #1… well she has been in this business for a long time but part of the reason why shes been in it for so long is because she’s been feeding a lot of people a line of crap for a very long time. There is plenty of proof, photographic and personal stories, that Jill has been running a very shady business for a very long time…including disposing of broodmares who dont suit her anymore, a dead foal pile, nutrition issues, deplorable lab conditions, shipping postiving test semen accross the border against federal law with no documention. The list goes on and on. There is a LARGE amount of people who have been wronged by Jill, theyve kept in the shadows and are dealing with this outside of public eye for legal reasons and the day for those convictions to start adding up will come. Obviously a large legal case is brewing and things are being kept out of public eye while everything is being compiled, gathered, and put together to be presented. Interesting, yes. Any legal case takes an abundance of time to persue.
I have read all 156 pages… I’ve seen a lot of people saying they were wronged. I’ve not seen a vet on her or a feed store saying she didn’t pay them.
I’ve not seen any concrete evidence of any wrong doing…
How many of you contributing to this thread has seen actual evidence?
I want to address the dead foal thing because it keeps coming up. Because we were speaking on a daily basis back ten, she told me that two foals had died (don’t know about a third, if there really was one) within a day of each other, one from an injury, I think, and one that never thrived from time of birth. Now, her TINY property was in the middle of a residential neighborhood where I am sure you were not allowed to bury animals. So, she would have had to wait for the disposal company to come and get them. And what do you do til then? Put a tarp over them and hope they come quickly.
I am not making excuses, but having been in the horse world so long, I know that horses die when it isn’t convenient for them to be buried or picked up, sometimes for a couple of days. So, I really don’t think this particular story adds anything to the other, clearer evidence, of her poor husbandry.
Getting a judgement against someone will only put you in a long line of liens against that person’s property, if they own any. At a certain point, there can be more liens on a property than it’s worth. I know of one person who racked up three times the value of the property, and the bank wouldn’t even foreclose on it, as they would then have inherited the liens on the property. After a while, it’s meaningless paper, as it will never be recouped, so one has to ask “why bother?”. This doesn’t mean don’t try, but if you learn that you’re number 100 in a long line of liens, sometimes people will cut their losses and move on. This is how serial con artists work the system, and keep getting away with it. Makes you long for the old “debtor’s prison”.
The FACTS are in the PUBLIC record!

Oh Jesus Christo
Google “Sonoma County Grantor / Grantee index”
Once you get to the page, enter in Burnell, Jill to search what has been recorded against her. You will then find documents called “ABST JUDGMNT” that stands for Abstract of Judgement. Meaning a Judge has ORDERED her to pay. When you DO pay, then a “Release of judgement” is recorded, releasing the previous judgement. There ARE NO RELEASES to these judgements, they are still outstanding.
Here (also shown on page 10, post 200 – but you already read that right?)
“ABST JUDGMNT” means “abstract of judgment” you will find the following Grantees (person or business owed) listed there:
Rivertown Feed & Pet Country Store – A FEED STORE
Myron Hinrichs (a veterinarian)
Turner Reynolds Greco & O’Hara (attorneys)
Household Financial corp. – The people that ended up foreclosing on the farm.

All you have to do is read the Sonoma County Courts page to see the judgements.
It shows, very clearly that the largest feed store in the area DID sue her, as well as at least one vet. Try reading the FACTS.

I don’t know who you are, but 98% of the horse world doesn’t spend time on the COTH BB. However, most of the posters here have enumerated their evidence in private. And how do YOU know there aren’t lawsuits ongoing? I suspect you are Jill or a friend, but no matter. Your disbelief in problems that the legit posters here have had matter not at all. And there are those pesky outstanding warrants that are a matter of public record…

I think if you went back quite a ways in the thread you would find that is exactly the case. People had to be told to leave the stallions out of it because some were bashing them. But again just saying if it was a fact thread things would be clearer.
