Doing business with JILL BURNELL? BEWARE.
Fact:

Several years ago, one former trainer of Gray Fox Farm’s horses was able to get paid for their training services. Trainer refused to release any of the GFF horses in their care until Jill Burnell paid up AND the check cleared. This trainer resorted to putting padlocks on all of the GFF horses stalls. Tough choice on the trainer’s part but they were ultimately paid in FULL. This was prior to John French.
Was that Sue Lightner perhaps? I heard she had to lock onf of Jill’s babies up until she paid.

Shannon, in my world there simply is no excuse for a horse to be in that heinous condition. It is nice to see her looking so well, and knowing that she is cared for properly.

If any animal under my care, were to fall into such poor condition, I would not be wagging my finger at anyone else, on the net or other wise.

Shame on you  !
Um, Shannon owns the mare. She leased the mare out to someone - and THAT person, the lessee, is the one who let the mare deteriorate so badly. NOT Shannon. So save your “shame on you” for someone who deserves it.

Thank you Mara

I know Shannon, have followed this situation, and am aware of exactly what went on.

I was speaking of THAT person.

Have a flawless day now Mara, ta!

All of this! and thank you!

Just a FYI, I read your post the same way Mara did. It reads like you are slapping Shannon.

And thank you as well

I have spoken to Shannon about it.

Really, do I need to explain myself to two people I do not know here?

My goodness. Funny how others understood it just fine.

Have a great day ladies!

Unbunch the panties.

I was not criticizing you. I was simply pointing out that how Mara read what you posted was not unique to Mara.

I understand the story, I did not understand your post why it seemed like you were poking at Shannon, but chose to ignore it. Only suggesting you not pounce on Mara because you post does read how she read it.

Geez…

Idea, take your own advice and unbunch your own! Mine are just fine thank you!

I do realise that some people simply can not seem to stop them selves from making petty remarks.

But, that hardly means I have to be subject to your misunderstanding of my post, supporting someone I speak to almost daily :).

Now, please go bother someone who cares about what you think.

Thanks!

it’s too bad a valuable thread has degenerated into the usual train wreck.

i hope equinedriver is still out there working - any reports back? anyone stepping up to be the backup in case something happens to ED?

Will this thread never end???

I hope it ends because Jill Burnell is out of business and/or in jail. She is still actively soliciting victims.

I sincerely hope not, not until the equestrian community gets some guts and band together to stop supporting this type of “business”.

My friend (mare owner) and I, hope that in the future (hopefully near future) Redwine will have another owner and that owner will take over the breedings Jill had sold and honor the contracts so we can try and breed to him again.

I don’t like how Jill did business and how she cared for her horses, but I still really want a Redwine baby…
:frowning:

I would think that is a ton to ask of a stallion owner consider the number of people she seems to owe breedings to.

That is one of the unfortunate parts in all of this. A couple of her stallions are very nice and the progeny from them do appear to be very nice too but until these stallions change hands I sure do hope that people bide their time and aren’t tempted to fund Jill’s business  It would be so nice if Redwine and Romantic Star were sold but I have this lingering notion that Jill will probably hang on to them come hell or high water. Sadly.

NM, not worth it.

We’ve removed/edited a few posts making definitive statements re: the cause of the mare’s condition in recent posts, to comply with our posting policies.

Please avoid confusing this already convoluted situation by introducing unrelated issues and unsubstantiated accusations of abuse or neglect.

Mod 1
While I agree that the situation presented is not directly related and should absolutely be left to dwindle, I do not think anyone was making any accusations of abuse, and, more importantly, the claims of neglect were 100% substantiated. I can promise you that  and am more than willing to provide any “evidence” necessary to anyone who requests it. I am not the only one who has experienced heartache and other damages at the hands of this person. I do appreciate you stepping in and removing some of the more derogatory words though.

I believe the person who posted the link about my mare was just attempting to take the floor away and remove any undeserved credit from the poster who was “slamming,” as her ex-husband so kindly put it, innocent and unrelated parties.

I will bow out now, and yes, let’s please turn the topic back to Jill Burnell! I too am interested to hear about equinedriver’s progress.

I agree, and I wonder what kind of mountain of debt a potential new owner would acquire with all the registries? At least the registries that have not been already paid current by unsuspecting mare owners :frowning:

This is my question as well. I think Edgar mentioned earlier in this thread that it would take more than just the current annual fee to get Romantic Star reinstated as an active stallion with AHS.
