"DOUBLE JEOPARDY!" - Old Horse Show Trivia

All right, well obviously I don’t mind making a complete fool of myself so I am going to guess again.

The Winning Card

Trained by Walter Lee (Belcourt Farm dedicated to quality)

Okay, just slap me down now…

Speaking of Touch the Sun, who else rode him, name both a male and female. Who started him?
Alex, this one should be right up your alley.

and the OTHER rider?

UPPERCO wins the first round with all correct answers for farm owners…

For bonus points answer ALL 3 parts of the following:

WHO was Emmerson Burr’s famous brother ?
WHAT was the name of the farm he managed ?
WHAT was the name of the horse which fell with him, effectively ending his riding carreer ?

Yeah, I realized last night I was thinking too far back into the Ronnie Silcox/Snowbound years. Stroller I remembered was late 60s.
Emmet- On the NY hunter I am stuck. Need more caffeine…
Johnny’s Pocket was piloted by Ellen Raidt (Lordi),Katie and NDJ. And I must confess, I forgot about Judy being a professional - so Jody got me on that one! (Ellen is judging the Medal finals this year!).
But Jody, I got you on '82. That was Grand Lieu (Canadian owned).
I’m going to the food tent to get some coffee.

Yes, LP, Poochie was who I had in mind.

Awfully quiet here today. What is it with you guys? Only playing Double Jep on the boss’s time? LOL.

Who was Betty Oare’s great working hunter? (Cummon Alex, I know you know the answer to this one.)

Who was Jack Payne’s famous conformation hunter?

I still have a trivia question on the table…

Emmet and Abby, the guess who had nothing to do with you two, but you will recognize it instantly, Emmet, you’ve already seen it!

Hurry up with my trivia question, I’ve got another one of those, too!

Guess who will be up this afternoon, if I can figure out this posting thing.

Emmet, bring pics to Culpeper this weekend; I’ll see you Sunday!

Laurie

OMG YD you make me LOL.

By the way, I knew the Suzette/Sharon Hardy Cole connection too! And if memory serves me, we’ve been there, several hundred pages ago.

Mr. Emmet wants to know who remembers what show the “rather well endowed” female streaked and went for a “shower” in the fountain? And what year was it?

And YD, didn’t Shakespeare end up with Boots?

Play the Music - why am I thinking Ian Miller?

was really Wendy W.

Dana, I DID remember back then and knew everyone! It is your MEMORY that amazes me! Mine is gone! Oh, sure, once someone answers, I say “Oh yeah, I did know that, or I remember her.”

It just seems to have left me now…

Laurie

You want braids, I’ll give you braids.

This is Terry’s wonderful pony, Hot Shot Kid. The rider, however, is Terry’s younger sister, Susie. (At least I got the hair right! )

George Lindenmann had a horse called Plain Brown Wrapper, that did several divisions. His nickname was Brownie I think. That’s about all I remember about him.

Mr. Campinini, I remember him well!

Famous Racehorse? I’ll say Kelso…

MHM. I have NO idea. How about Marley G?

Great story! I hope the critter wasn’t GREY!
Poultice while showing? No problem. Abby has a story about THAT!

phew, after beating my way on, would someone tell me what question we’re on??? Good grief, think we have over loaded Info Pop.

What rider has won the most showjumping grands prix? Not RJ, nor Hap - good guesses both.

HRHwc may answer tomorrow if nobody guesses.

God Bless America.

Thanks WC Yellowdog (prounounced “Champion YellowDog”)! I didn’t realize it was done in the different disciplines.

You are certainly the WC of trivia as well!

Well Mr.Trebek,

I think I shall stick with juniper berries…the fermented kind.

May have already been answered but…

Among others: Please Note, Showdown, Sunshine, all when owned by Marvin had the prefix Spindletop.

Spindletop was his restaurant.

Who owned and showed one jumper, one hunter quite sucessfully whose names were a theme?
