Didn’t Betsy Bolger-Day ride Y-Hugo??
Anyone care to guess?
And who was the trainer?
Who bred him: Al Steiert (by Hannovarian stallion named Abundance out of TB mare named Nobody Much).
Who rode him first: Maryanne Steiert.
Who bought him from the Wheelers and retired him: Ellen Van Dyke.
One of the vets I worked for grew up at Al’s farm. She saw Ruxton at the end of his career with Ellen Van Dyke at MSG. She was amused by old Ruxton doing the A/O division because she remembered him from his early (and not very easy) days.

KS I remember Sly well. Also Moving Target. So named because he never stood still and as Patty said “you can’t hit a moving target”… He had a lot of talent but never went far because of his back… He was the one she had to go to Walmart and buy K-Y Jelly by the case for (for the Ultrasound, of course.
). Her stories about the looks she got in the check out line were priceless.
Who did Alice borrow for the '86 finals?

NOT T’aint Paste…Tergonwell!
Patty had Sly Step not Sly Arrival.
Who is Janice Bledsoe - that WAS a hard one! LOL Drawing a blank on the large…hmmm…Easy Money maybe?
Hmm, YellowDOg - I thought only Michael rode Tom - although, in 83 Michael rode Chef (the other horses were Livius (Kursinski), Boing (Burr), & Cheska (Southside). Was Tom the alternate horse?
I met his breeder/first owner who told me the story of how selling Tom allowed him to buy his farm here in Ireland. (Later he also went to the States and worked for Del Eq Ctr - went back to Ireland and is a practicing vet here).
His American owner also sold him (after the Pan Am Games) and bought a farm in PA…
is the four Emmet mentioned and Mystic, ridden by Joe and by Joan Boyce.
Another question: Name the solid bay jr. hunter who won just about everything, even though he wasn’t a very tidy jumper, and three of his riders, all well known. Same time period, the 70’s.

Jumpsalot, that is just plain hair (scary isn’t it – these two toddlers sitting on big horses with no hats)
Even funnier is the fact that said toddler’s dad worked in the rock music world and was starting to bald. So said toddler has “extra hair” to even the score… (hey, good pun )
Jane/Jeanie duPuch
Southside/Souie/that should give you the necessary hint.

Abby, I remember a young lady with blonde hair who did Chase the Clouds. Can’t remember her name either. LOL
Incorrect on Sloopy. At least the era I was thinking. KLG should know this one.
Who was Emmet’s fav?
GP OF TAMPA, 1980!
A joint answer, so you both get half of the value.
Let’s see, half of nothing is…

Poor KS, those late night frolics don’t do much for your brain cells huh?! Yep, right trainer, but I’m afraid that partial answer will not get you on the cruise ship. Think musical instruments…
I still have a D.H. hat
Unlike Abby, I have about 5000 old Chronicles, Practical Horsemans, programs from Indoors, etc., but I haven’t been using them as resources! No wonder I’m getting my butt kicked!
I think those of us playing strictly off our feeble memories should get an upgrade on the cruise. Abby and I get dibs on dinner at the Captain’s table.
You’ve stumped my too Emmet, but it never hurts to guess:
Goodboy Dee and Gail Hulick?

except Felton was Buddy and Karen Marsh (now DaPrato). Both “Abby” and Abby (also known as Wobbles) are driving home now. I’m sure she’ll chime in shortly. And yes, the senior tennis star in WPB is Leslie’s mom.
This really is so trivial! Thanks again Alex.
“Whose retirement…?” - Kim’s Song! A legendary party, still remembered by all who were there; the WIHS was the show. And those who DID make it in were, shall we say, less than up to par?
Abby, Airstreams in Tampa, 1979, the first year I did FL with J & C, I believe!
What VERY well known jumper owner lived in and supported the industry in my home state and had horses out east too with a VERY well known trainer, and subsequently with this trainer’s proteges?
