yes on Ruxton Al Steiert Maryann Ellen Van Dyke First trainer?
Junie Kulp worked in a stocking factory in Norristown, Pa.
He also drove a dumptruck for a local Quarry… can you imagine that one !
Before he had All Around Farm, he was in business with a well-known (now) horse owner… GUESS WHO ?!?

Well I never rode in a Corinthian class because I was a junior on a pony but I did do lots of appointments classes. Here’s what I remember:
- sandwich case
-
sandwich in case. yes, that’s a separate item–especially if you’ve forgotten to pack one and end up trying to fold a concession stand hot dog to fit.
- hunting whip
- stock
- canary vest
- black jacket
- boot straps
- spurs
- leather gloves (on hands unless it’s raining.)
- string gloves in girth (unless it’s raining, then switch with leather gloves and pray they actually fit because you never had to wear them before
)
I think that’s all I can remember. How’d I do Shorty?
(4) Fred Bauer, but I don’t know the horse’s name! I’m thinking Dillon, but I think that was Michael Sasso’s horse…
Should have disqualified Abby from the first part of that question. No, Yellow you are not eligible to answer a question directly related to you!
Checkered/Yellow cab!? I know. I’m reaching for that one.
Speaking of Boing…who rode him before Leslie?
Who is the [male] junior rider of the 1980’s who wore espadrilles with his breeches (when he took off his boots). As I recall, some of the espadrilles were quite colorful!
(And whatever happened to him???)
I remember Steve and Debbie having him, and then I may be way off, but I think I remember Tim Grubb showing him at the Invitational one year. He was eventually purchased by Debbie Dolan.
Yes, Frank did ride him, Emmet. I remember giving him a leg up. Sadly, can’t remember why, where, when.

My trivia question: name horses who won major GPs with at least 2 different riders.
Bonus points: name horses who won $100K classes with different riders.

Emmet’s picks as well, plus
Corsair (NDJ and Leslie); The Natural (RJ and Katherine Burdsall); Sugar Ray; Threes and Sevens;
Gem Twist (three riders!) ; Aramis;
MayBe (Conrad and some Californian I can’t recall); Aerobic?; …
I’ll get back to you. Brain empty now.
who showed Gem Twist on the team in 1986 at NY?
But doesn’t the pool sound better? None of those waves to knock you upside down…
Lord Helpus-
Mclain the horse was named after Mclain the child, not the other way around.
Whatever did happen to Shep? I worked with him one summer… 'twas an experience !!!
If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand…
Another two generation question.
A sucessful junior hunter rider from the late 60s has a daughter who has been very sucessful on ponies.
Her horse, while a hunter, came from jumper bloodlines.
Her trainer, who ran Shannon Stable after Barney left, was better known as a jumper trainer/rider than for the hunters.
Name the rider, her daughter, the horse, and the trainer.
Jimmy Kohn (catchride in the Gold Cup eons ago)
That is a toughy…Shorty. Were the lenses yellow? I keep seeing a yellow hue around his eyes…
Butch Thomas?
Laurie
Correct - you get the ginsing knives today.
But I believe C. Fiore was from Florida and rode with Christina?
