Lauriep I do not know the answer to your question about Riot Free, but it brought to mind another question about a wonderful working horse – Royal Blue –

Who was his rider, and, in those years when NY had a “Ladies to Ride” class, who rode him in that class? (I have decided that the “Ladies to Ride” designation constitutes ciecumstances beyond the regular rider’s control, LOL.)

upperco, think the Ca judge= Larry Mayfield??

HooTooDo remember when Betty Oare received Navy Commander as an engagement gift???

could you mean Sandsablaze and Buddy Brown?

Laurie

What junior missed the flat of the Maclay finals because they were at church?
(They thought the flat was in the afternoon.)

I thought if I posted the answer here after someone got it right it might be a solution to the problem of questions without answers.
Answer: Kim Rachuba, I hope I spelt it correctly.

Mrs Schulthess was one of the world’s nicest horse show secretarys. She started working in horse show offices to pay for Lynne’s showing – that is one great family. It really was a total combined effort, and they all pulled together.

And, I am sure, that about 5 minutes after someone else has posted her first name, it will come back tome like a bolt fromthe blue. “Elaine” keeps popping to the front of my brain…

SJHofFame - IDLE DICE was the first horse inducted.

Interesting that Sandsablaze went from the Hunters/Jr Jprs/Eq to the Grand Prix, like In My Cap - as Shorty mentioned.

Were there other who moved up rather than down? (Which is what we usually see today!)

Who was Champion Jumper at both Harrisburg and Washington DC in 1966?

Hint:
This horse and rider team were also Leading International Rider and Champion International Jumper at MSG the same year.

71 pages and over 1400 posts!

Spent time at Hilltop myself, when Walter White was the trainer of us lesser types.

Thanks upperco, Lobel is her married name…

Weatherford, are you meaning like Lister Hall, Gwyneed, Crebilly and Miles River ponies? Sorry bout the spelling…

OUR second guess is Ian Miller.

First wife Patty (Perry), kids Blythe, Robert (?) and ? (another boy…)

Sundancer was Michelle’s famous jumper. She had a mare that was related to him that she called Turn on the Sun (Toots).

New question: Conrad won the Medal and Maclay riding borrowed horses, a different one for each final. Name them. Extra credit if you know how old he was.

Hint- the horse showed in the Grand Prix that week with Norman Dello Joio.

Johnny’s Pocket, of course!

The only part of Shorty’s ? I knew has already been answered so…guess I don’t win a cruise today!

Abby, the Dr. was not one of the grooms I had in mind, although that seemed like an eternity ago. The caretakers I had in my mind preceded Dr. G’s tenure. But, as they say, “thanks for the memories.” LOL

Hey, what’s LaurieP on holiday today?
