Dressage attire guidelines

Yes, this was my confusion. One of the plaids and one of the accents was a no, but so similar to a yes I could not tell the difference!

I’ll take this a step further and say I don’t see people ‘wound around’ any ‘axle’ at all. Just discussing the new rules. I’ve no stake in this at all, was just commenting that, to me, it seemed difficult to interpret and my hat is off to you all who can navigate it and look swish while you compete.

You know, a lighthearted comment to support all the riders who will work through this system to give us style along with our sport.

Yikes!

That makes zero sense. Perhaps it is you who should be saying, “Thank you, I made mistake.” But you seem to have a problem with me. That’s fine, I really do not care.

I think they are pretty clear unless you want to wear a plaid or neon pink. There’s a lot of clearly allowed ground here. There’s no reason to make it more complicated than it needs to be.

Unless you’re ordering a custom coat, the vast majority of people are going to be choosing from standard one-color coats maybe with some crystals somewhere. They were legal before and they’re legal now.

THis came across facebook today. It’s an hour long… I do not know if this is the same one as was posted much earlier. https://www.usdf.org/docs/ShowFlash/web/TechnicalDelegate/Edited%20equipment%202.4.mp4?t=2%2F14%2F2022%209%3A57%3A25%20AM&fbclid=IwAR13pg7SFTLhdvR-EeFzq3l_D1RhLC19IEHUBg0hHah1MsBzv4q1zYdGcOg

How long do you think it’ll be until the major companies start producing jackets/breeches in more “show approved” colours?

I know there is a tonne of navy blue and some burgundy coats, but it would be great if there were more (somewhat affordable….) coats in brighter blues, some greens even?

I found most have been discontinued or sold out.

That’s what I was thinking: there will be lines of stuff touted as being rules compliant. A whole new area of commerce! I bet we’ll see some really nice stuff, too.

I am disappointed that so many of my show shirts will now be disallowed - plain body, correct collar, but the mesh underarms and across the shoulders have prints… Hope we see some nice shirts!

I looked hard for a French blue coat, but couldn’t find one.

That is a brilliant way to market the new colors too. Rules Compliant.

@lorilu, your shirts should be fine under a coat. No one will know about the pattern.

The only time your shirt will be seen In the ring is when coats are waived…so, wear your fun shirts, and keep a plain one for non-coat days.

Yes! Great marketing tool: “Now offering a selection of ‘rules compliant’ apparel in fresh new colors and subtle patterns.”

Which company will dare to be first?

My kudos to the person who made up the guide, which is truly a work of brilliance.

Since it’s been pointed out to me in another thread that I can’t recognize sarcasm, clue me in. Are you being sarcastic? :slightly_smiling_face:

Search out brands that show jumpers wear. Cavalleria Toscana had a lovely marine green jacket - although it probably wouldn’t meet your affordable criteria!

of course I know that the shirt wont be seen under the jacket. Gee whiz guys, you think that little of my intelligence? Here in FL, coats are usually waived after about May. I like longer sleeves even when coats are waived.

I’m sorry, I have no way of knowing how much you have shown. Or what region you’re in.

Sorry @lorilu, I too had no way of knowing you were in Florida or that you understood your shirt was OK under your coat. I am glad you might be able to get to use them at sometime. It is still snow covered where I am so…hard to imagine the coats waived thing right now.

RJ Classics had had some variant of green for a few years now. I have their olive green from a few years ago (which wasn’t certain was legal under the old HSV scheme but is now!) and currently a hunter green. If their coats fit you you might want to keep an eye on them.

At a cheaper price point, I saw SmartPak’s got a hunter green in their coats now, and so does Horsewear’s show coat. It’s a fairly popular color for hunters, so any brand that also caters to them is likely to have something green.

But certainly you realize anyone would know a shirt cannot be seen under a jacket, only when they are waived. SMH

I know that people who are new to showing may not know many things that seem obvious. Try not to be offended.
