Seems like a lot of falls today… has anyone seen any running statistics on it?

Who is the man doing the USA channel commentary? Is he a horse person?
Randy Moss. He’s an ESPN commentator, mostly covering racing.

Randy Moss - not sure?

No. I turned off my volume. The commentators on the live stream are very good.
Ah. I just wondered from listening, because he doesn’t seem to have much horse commentary, and just said that a horse had grease on “some of his hocks.”

Well, that’s it for the USA team. Bummer.
Phillip Dutton just had the nicest 3 to 2 to the frog in the water combo right now. Such a cool shot the live stream did too, to show you just how accurate he was. Wow.
and they finished 5th, great job!
based on today’s results, I vote we send all remotely talented 12 year olds to foster with horsey families in Australia or New Zealand until they are 18. They can come home via France with a quick stop in Germany.
I loved the Brazilian’s ride - even as he crashed through 2 fences he had a huge grin on his face and looked like he was loving every moment. Quite the spunky horse and I was a bit nervous at first but a great ride! Think he’s now 7th now too?

Did Lauren take the direct route there? If so, I wonder why she didn’t take the long route as she took a long route earlier.
She did direct.
This is my armchair opinion, but it honestly looked like Veronica was a little surprised to be on the ground after the fence. She got up just fine and was walking out reasonably well when humans started approaching her. I think she truly was just a bit shaken up–she took off fine over the fence, she simply wasn’t quite tidy enough with her front end.

I agree, it looked like she just tipped a toe and buckled an ankle on landing. Most every other fall I saw, the horse walked off poorly - maybe not anything serious, but still not feeling good at that moment). When V popped up,she looked OK to me.
I think team riders are often told what routes to take by the team coach. I don’t know if that’s the case with Lauren and Veronica.

Is it possible to watch all of cross country after the event on BBC?
I caught the last few minutes on BBC and loved the commentary, but it wouldn’t let me go back. I’m now watching it on cbc which is fine, but would certainly enjoy the commentary.
I’m finding BBC’s website challenging to navigate.
Who are the live stream (NBC) commentators? Loved their commentary.
The “other” guy is Steve Hadley, he does all the commentary for WC show jumping (along with Philip Ghazala). The main commentator is a regular at the big 3 day competitions, but I don’t know his name…
Hadley has yet to make it through an event without at least one reference to a “crackin’ good round”, which always makes me smile
The “regular” commentator was John Kyle (brother of Irish rider Mark Kyle). Really enjoyed the commentary on the live feed - very knowledgeable and not dumbed down at all.
Occasionally my Roku channel would have a blip, and I would lose the commentary but not the other sounds (galloping, whistles, etc.) - pretty sure that’s was a local problem though.
Such a treat to get to watch live. Almost makes my giant monthly cable bill worth it.
I agree. I appreciate the COTH Tech support early on today.

Someone help me out with the team/individual rules here. Since Clark is out, that means we are no longer eligible for a team placing, right? Or do we just go on our top three scores? I never did grasp how that works…
So sad for him. :(
Best 3 scores count for the team placing.
Each DNF gets a score of 1000.
Team USA currently has a score of 1097.7
