It was Clark. Poor Glen would. not. change. leads. But a lot of the horses are saying no to that.
I thought Lauren’s test better than the judges, but I guess she muffed a flying or two, and tiny things that Jon Kyle has mentioned. We are just going to hope and pray for good results by this time tomorrow.

Yes, Dutton. Typo.
NBC has a score up for him.[/QUOTE]
He has not gone yet. Score is wrong. Will go in another two horses or so.

Is there anywhere we can see the scores by movement?
The announcers just mentioned the top 5 countries, and the US is not among that group. What position is the US?

Tied for 6th. Scores are extremely close. Germany and France…only .2 between the two…and the rest of the countries really NOT far off. From people on the ground there…this will not be a dressage show. Course is solid and making time is going to take some riding. Should be a good competition. Dressage is important…but it will be how everyone does over the next two phases that will really determine things…as it should be.

If the course is a true 4* course and is very twisty and turny and big, the countries/people who came with 3* horses might be in for a bad day tomorrow. IIRC, WFP said it’s as big a course as he’s ever seen.

He said it’s as big as he’s ever seen at an Olympics. Meaning, it is not a 2* on steroids like Athens, or a 3* as most OG courses are considered.
Holy crap our team sucks this time. What happened? There are some great riders and awesome horses on the team. Why the big fail in dressage? These days, you can’t fail at dressage and hope to place, let alone win. Not enough time to get settled in? Nerves for the riders? I’m shocked. I never expected to see us this far behind.
Who has watched it all and thinks they know what might have happened?
None of the US riders “failed”. Boyds horse had a personal best. Clark scored lower than normal for him with a few bobbles. Lauren had a lovely test. Dutton had a beautiful test with one misstep in the last change. We haven’t been super competitive at world level after dressage in a while. I imagine a lot of shakeup tomorrow. Difference in 1st team and us is 15 pts. Less than 1 refusal. And individually 10 pts between 1st and 20th.
if you watched the tests, you would know why. Almost everyone had trouble with the 4, FOUR flying changes!
I don’t think it was nerves, it was just pissy horses. They don’t know this is the BIG moment of their lives.
Hey, Sam himself broke his counter canter. When has that ever happened?
I am concerned about the course, when I remember this is the guy that designed the course in France two years ago, and Badminton this year. I keep thinking about the vicarage vee. Some have said if they didn’t want to jump it they could do the alternate. But the design of a fence should not cause as much wreckage as 10 falls at a single fence.
I just hope they all come out safe and whole tomorrow.

Pierre Michelet did not do Badminton this year…that was Giuseppe della Chiesa.
Michelet did design WEG in 2014…but keep in mind how much the weather played a role in that…and he has been the designer for Pau and I think Saumur in the last year or two as well.
Agree with you on the last sentence though!
Gah why is the livestream on the NBC app showing NCIS and not cross country… and it appears to be in the middle of an episode
Okay, kids. Everyone go around well and come home safely. You can stop, you can run out, you can get lost, you can fall off. Nobody get hurt.
Just turned on USA to watch the LIVE cross country that is supposed to run from 9-2…
AND it’s table tennis.
Did she go? All I get is “Coverage to Begin Shortly”?
Is USA the only US option to watch? Looks like not streaming on the app? Ugh!!!
